So yeah, I know that I'm a little late since the real Day of the Departed was about 9 days ago. I had made this chapter for that day, but I didn't really like it so it was left unreleased.
I did some thinking and decided to put it out anyway so if it is a bit messy or stupid with no real substance, sorry...
Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
This was the hardest time of the year for her, for the whole team, really. Why did things have to go the way they did with Jay?It was the fall season and while everyone around the Merged Lands were celebrating The Day of the Departed, the Monastery of Spinjitzu's residents weren't feeling it this year.
Lloyd had locked himself in Wu's old office, Cole had returned to the Land of Lost Things with Geo, Bonzle, Fritz and Spitz to get some of their old stuff they had forgotten, Kai had volunteered to look after Wyldfyre who was eager to go to a carnival at the Crossroads, Riyu, Frak, and Sora had all been quiet and had skipped training due to Arin being gone, Zane had made himself busy with work, Frohicky was cleaning like usual, and Nya was in her and Jay's old room once again, sitting on their bed.
The Day of the Departed was so hard to get through. It was supposed to be a time of joy and the celebration of those who have passed on from this world, but to her, for the first time, it was nothing but agony.
She was missing the most important person to her. Jay Walker, the Master of Lightning.
Of course he wasn't dead, but it felt like he was. He was gone for good.
Nya didn't want to come outside tonight. She didn't want to see all the lanterns in the sky. It would just make her sadder.
Lloyd had previously encouraged her to join the celebration at midnight, but she had just shook her head and locked the door to her room.
She was not feeling a party right now. Previous years at the time of the Merge, she had celebrated and released three lanterns, one for Kai, Maya, and Ray, one for the Ninja team, and one for Jay, but not this year.
Why celebrate when there's nothing to celebrate for?!
She just wanted to forget everything and bury herself in the bed, and soon, she was already in the land of dreams.
Previously, everything had been a nightmare for her, but now, she was standing on a grassy field of golden flowers. The field seemed endless, the sky was blue and filled with clouds and floating rocks.
It really looked like a place Master Wu had told stories about to the Ninja multiple years ago. What was it called? Grasslands?
Yeah, it sounded about right.
The Grasslands was a place for noble, fallen heroes, warriors, and masters. Or that's what Wu had described it as.
But why was she seeing dreams of a place like this? She hadn't passed away in her sleep, had she?!
But soon, she received an answer as she heard footsteps and a deep but gentle male voice behind her.
She turned around and gasped at the sight of the one and only man who created the land she walked on her whole life.
"Hello, Nya. I have been waiting for you," he said, leaning down to touch a flower on the ground.
"You are- you... What?!" Nya was in awe, basically speechless.
Was it really HIM?
"I can hear what you are thinking of," he chuckled, standing up to reveal his face to her. "Yes, I am who you think I am."
"So you are..." she was about to ask, but he interrupted her.
"Yes. Yes, I am," he replied. "But I am nothing special, really. There are people here who are much more significant to you."
