Admire

20th June 2019,

In these 5 months we get to know more about each other, about likes and dislikes, hobbies, and favourite things. Through our time together I get to see his funny side too, how he makes me laugh even on a rough day. I have come to admire him not just how he is in front of others but the person he is when it is just the two of us. Sharing quiet moments and conversation feels like our own little world. Slowly I started to admire him, I liked how he treated me differently in comparison to other people.

26th July 2019,

It was late evening, most of the students had left the campus leaving quite calm around us. I was sitting on a bench nearby the library, flipping through the notes. I heard footsteps and I looked up, it was Sunghoon with his familiar smile which always lightened me up.

"Studying again" he asked, sitting down beside me close enough, so I could feel his presence.

"Trying to catch up" I replied smiling nervously.

For a moment we just sat there, talking about our classes, about random things, he looked at me with his soft gesture, and suddenly he took my hand, holding it gently. My heart raced because of his warm touch.

I couldn't believe how my pulse quickened, and breath catching. His hand holding mine, he leaned in just a bit closer as if he was waiting for my reply.

"I....I am glad to" i whispered, the words barely leaving my lips.

At that moment, it felt like time stood still, and just the two of us under the dim light, feeling each other's presence, staring into each other's eyes connected in a way that made everything else fade away.

5th August 2019,

It was late at night and the streets were quiet, as I walked back from the library before the rainstorm hit. The street lights cast along the shadows and there was an uneasy feeling in my stomach, as someone was following me.

Suddenly I heard footsteps behind me growing closer and faster. I saw back their faces were hidden in the shadows. I panicked and started to run. My heart was pounding.

As I turned, I stumbled nearly falling, when I heard a familiar voice called out
"Yoonah"

It was Sunghoon, he was rushing towards me with concern on his face. Without thinking twice, I hugged him tightly, I was scared, scared to death. He held me tightly in his arms. He shot a sharp look at the stranger behind me. He hesitated then turned and walked away.

Sunghoon held me tightly in his arms, as I tried to catch my breath "it's okay, yoonah i am here".

He gently pulled back, held my hand softly "are you alright" asked with soft and filled with concern.

I nodded, still shaken, but his presence was enough to calm me. Without saying any word he leads me towards my apartment.

8th September 2019,

Today was my 22nd birthday, and i hadn't expected much, in fact I hadn't expected anything at all. Birthdays were just regular days for me - quite without any celebration. As I woke up, went about my usual routine then I heard a msg tone from my phone I was greeted by a surprise text from Sunghoon "meet me in an hour, I have something planned".

Curiosity sparked and i quickly got ready as I stepped out there he was waiting with a warm smile, and a beautiful flower of bouquet in his hands.
"Happy Birthday Yoonah" he said softly handing me flowers.

My heart melted yet I was emotional, I thanked him. It was the first time someone wished me, looks like today is going to be my special day and guess, it was.

He led me to a beautiful spot, where he had set up a small picnic under a large tree, I was taken back by the efforts he had put in and couldn't help but smile. He had even brought my favourite food, some little birthday treats.

We spent hours there talking and laughing sharing stories and just enjoying each other's company. As it was evening he took me to the amusement park, I was overwhelmed, never in my life have i visited the amusement park, i experienced every ride with Sunghoon even though he was scared, but for me he tried.

Never in my whole life I had felt so alive, so genuinely happy as I felt today and the reason was Sunghoon. He makes me happy in every possible way, the way he looked at me, the way he made everything seem effortless, Maybe I had started to admire him, maybe I had started to see him more than just a friend or maybe I had started to love him.
