Nobody's POV,
Yoonah could see through the glass windows that Yohan was lying motionless on the hospital bed, surrounded by machines. His face was pale and few cuts, bruises marked his forehead and cheek. Tubes and wire ran from his arms.
She pressed her hands against the cold glass, feeling a wave of emotions crash over her - fear, guilt and painful realisation how he truly meant to her. Memories of their moments together flooded in her mind, and the regret of all the words left unspoken grew heavier each second.
The doctor approaches her quietly, pulling her from her thoughts,
Dr : Mrs park he is stable for now, but his condition is still critical. The next 24 hrs are crucial.
Yoonah nodded barely able to respond as she tried to hold back her tears. She turned her gaze back to Yohan and she whispered,
" Please.. don't leave me... I can't lose you too.."
After some time the doctor came back, his expression was serious but calm. Yoonah felt her heart skip as she awaited for any sign.
Dr : Mrs park, we managed to stabilize him a bit more. The internal bleeding has been controlled and he is responding well. But it's still too early to say he is out of danger.
Yoonah nodded,
Yoonah : can I... Can I see him.
Yoonah requested the doctor that she could meet him atleast.
Doctor nodded,
"Just for a moment. He's still unconscious, but sometimes hearing a familiar voice can help."
With a deep breath, Yoonah followed the doctor into the room, the soft beeping of the machines filling the space around them. She stepped up to Yohan's bedside, taking in his pale face, the bandages, and the way he lay there so still, so unlike the person she knew.
Taking his hand gently in hers, she leaned in close and whispered,
Yoonah : I'm right here, Yohan. Please, hold on. I need you... more than you know.
She searched his face, hoping for the smallest sign of response.
Yoonah : I know things haven't always been easy between us,
she continued, her voice barely above a whisper,
and I know I've kept parts of myself hidden, but... I can't imagine my life without you. I can't bear the thought of losing you, too.
A tear slipped down her cheek as she leaned closer, her forehead resting against his hand.
Yoonah : So please... fight your way back. For me. For us. Just... come back to me.
After some time, as Yohan slowly opened his eyes, he didn't look at Yoonah. His gaze stayed fixed on the ceiling. Yoonah's heart ached as she watched him, the relief of seeing him consciously quickly replaced by the sting of his silence.
She leaned forward, hoping to reach him somehow.
Yoonah : Yohan...
she whispered gently, her voice filled with all the worry and affection she'd been carrying for days.
Yoonah : I'm here. I've been here the whole time, waiting for you to wake up.
Still, he didn't turn his head, didn't meet her eyes. His jaw tightened slightly, as if her presence made him feel something he was struggling to contain.
"Yohan," she tried again, her voice softer this time, hurt peeking through her words. "Please... look at me."
After a tense moment, he finally spoke, his tone colder than she'd expected.
Yohan : Why are you here, Yoonah?
His voice was quiet, yet laced with frustration, and it made her flinch.
Yoonah : Why?
she echoed, her heart sinking.Because... I care about you. I was so scared, Yohan.
He finally turned his head toward her, his eyes filled with a mix of pain and bitterness.
Yohan : It just doesn't make sense, Yoonah. Not after everything.
Her heart twisted at the distance between them, the weight of unspoken words pressing down on them both. She wanted to bridge the gap, to make him see how much he meant to her, but in that moment, she realized it would take more than words to heal the wounds they both carried.
Yoonah couldn't hold back her tears any longer. They streamed down her face as she looked at Yohan, who sat there with an expression of quiet indifference.
Yoonah : Yohan please say something.. please talk to me Yohan... I can't take this anymore.
Yoonah's tears have turned in to loud sobs,
Yoonah : why you are shutting me out like this? I know I hurt you and I am sorry for that... But I was scared that I will also lose you just like I lost Sunghoon.
The mention of Sunghoon's name brought a flash of pain to Yohan's face, but he stayed silent, his jaw clenched as he looked away.
Yoonah : Do you know what it's like to lose someone you thought you would have forever? You know how I lost him, Yohan?
she chuckled bitterly, as the memories rushed over her.
