After thoroughly enjoying her breakfast with her newly made friends, Sakura made her way back to her room when she ran into Sasuke coming back in just a towel. Sakura couldn't hide the fact that it made her face redder than a tomato. Sasuke glanced her way and went to open his door when Sakura called out to him.
"U-Uh, Sasuke? When you're free next, could you show me to the training hall?"
During breakfast, Kakuzu explained to Sakura all of the amazing different rooms the Akatsuki lair had. It was much larger than expected, there were over a hundred bedrooms and only a handful were used so they were mostly spread out, unless you were partners, then you were of course right across the hall from each other.
He also informed her they had a hall with about ten large rooms used for different kinds of training. Different rooms for different element style jutsu, hand to hand combat, Genjutsu and so on. Sakura was relieved to know she wouldn't be forced to train with anyone else if she didn't desire to, and thought it would also be a great way to kill time. Not like there was much to do there if you weren't on a mission, which she wasn't supposed to get until she received at least a small amount of trust from Pein.
Sasuke ran a hand through his wet hair and sighed. "Give me a minute." Was all he said before disappearing into his room.
Sakura waited patiently until he stepped out soon after fully dressed with still damp hair and felt her stomach do a backflip at how attractive he was. After showing her to the training hall, Sasuke said he was needed somewhere else and quickly walked off down another long hallway and left Sakura standing there to watch him walk away, yet again.
She internally rolled her eyes and entered the weapons room which she practiced her aim while running and reaction speed thoroughly before sitting down, heavily panting, for a well deserved break after two hours of constant movement. She heard the door to her training room open and looked up to see Itachi enter.
"Oh, I apoligize, I didn't know this room was taken."
Sakura couldn't tell if he sounded tired or bored. She assumed being a Uchiha came with the condition that you had to act emotionless 24/7 because she had never met anyone as robotic as these boys. As he turned to leave, Sakura quickly stood up and waved him back.
"Oh no no, I'm leaving now anyway! I've had a pretty good workout, I think I'll just head back to my room and rest for a little while. You can have this room."
Itachi starred at her silently before nodding once and quietly responded with "I'll walk you back."
Sakura was greatful Itachi was so kind because she wasn't sure how far she would have gone before realizing total defeat and admit she had no clue how to maneuver her way through this giant maze to her bedroom yet. And for someone who annihilated their entire village, Itachi sure was polite, unlike a certain other Uchiha who came to mind.
When they arrived at Sakuras door there was a long silence. The two just stood there, Sakura not sure what to say while he just watched her blankly.
"Well.. Thank you, for walking me back. In not sure how far I would have gotten on my own, ahah ha ha.."
Sakura awkwardly laughed and waited for him to say something but all he did was nod.Itachi seemed troubled by something but that was none of Sakuras business. Whatever it was, all she could do was awkwardly thank him again before entering her room and leaning against the cold wooden door with her eyes closed.
Confused and slightly flustered by strange emotions filling her head, she angrily rubbed her temples and sighed. What's with those two and why did they have so much power over her emotions? Not just Sasuke but it seems Itachi is slipping his way into her heart as well, and she couldn't figure out if this were the beginning of a crush or the beginning of a dear comrade. Although, she never felt so confused like this over any of her other friends..
Groaning, she's stood and moved away from her door and walked over to her lamp to turn it on. Since they were based inside of a mountain, they obviously had no windows, making her room completely black without the light of a lamp. Before she could turn it on though, she heard her door open quietly and quickly close before she could even turn around. Roughly, she was pushed onto her bed from behind and felt the weight of someone crash down onto her.
Sakuras heart was racing a mile a minute. Who was her intruder this time?! Was it Sasori again, or Deidara..?? She could feel their steady breathing on her neck which sent chills down her spine.
"Relax." Was all they said, their husky voice vibrating against her ear.
That voice was familiar. Too familiar..
"I-Itachi?!"
