Timeskip - This takes place on Halloween 2021

Lover

The house was moderately chaotic today with everyone busy preparing for the Halloween party. We did one every year and some of our friends came over. It was a tradition at this point and this would also be the first one that Evermore got to experience.

Red was in charge of decorating with Eve and Speak Now. Rep and I were in charge of baking while Lorie and 1989 were out getting some stuff from the store. Debut and Fearless were in charge of cleaning as usual although I'm not sure why I keep putting them on cleanup duty since they make more of a mess before anything productive actually gets done.

I was busy sliding some cookies onto a cooling rack while Rep was supposed to be icing some cupcakes. Taking a look over at her, I noticed she was busy on her phone instead of doing her work.

“Put the phone away Rep.”

“But I-”

“No buts. We have work to do.”

“You know we could buy this stuff and it would be so much easier.”

“Where's the fun in that?”

“Where's the fun in this?”

“Oh, so you don't like baking with me?”

“I never said that. But there's many other things I'd prefer doing with you.”

“Oh really? ”

“Yes really.” She backed me against the counter before lifting me atop it.

“Rep-”

She placed a finger on my lips. “Shh. You look stressed Love. I think you need a break. Don't you agree?” She looked at me, head tilted, smirk on her face.

“Yes.” She took her finger off my lips and kissed me, brushing hair away as her lips made their way towards my collarbone.

“Get a room you two.” I opened my eyes as Rep slowly pulled away and Evermore walked into the room.

I let out a frustrated sigh, sliding down from the counter. “You sure picked a good time to come to the kitchen.”

“And you picked a great place to get hot and heavy with each other. You do know we have other rooms in the house?”

Deciding to change the topic, I asked Eve why she came to the kitchen in the first place. “So what did you need from the kitchen?”

“I needed something to pour this into.” She lifted a crimson filled bottle onto the table, before grabbing a jug from the cupboard.

“What are you doing with that?”

“I need to splatter some blood on some of the decorations. Don't worry, it'll dry fast.”

“It looks very… real. It's not real blood, is it?”

“Of course not. I'd have to keep that in the fridge. This is much easier to store.”

“Right…” It had taken me a very, very long time to get used to Evermore’s hobbies. She was into some extremely questionable stuff and that's not taking into account whatever she got up to at night.

We didn't see eye to eye for a long time after that night at the cabin. Her nonchalant attitude towards the death of people and her fondness for causing it was a major red flag for me but it didn't seem to bother the others much, especially Red who started dating her at the start of the year.

I mean, I was friendly with her but I decided that if Red could see past all that then I could too so I did my best to acclimatise to her quirks and be proper friends with her.
