I opened my eyes, reaching over to the nightstand to turn off the alarm on my phone. Carefully, I lifted off the arm wrapped around my torso, when I heard Evermore groan in her sleep. Turning over, I saw her eyes opening slowly.

“Good morning.”

“It's too early.”

“You shouldn't have gone to bed so late.”

“I was busy.”

“You always are.” I rolled my eyes playfully. “Now come on, we've got to get up and get ready. We have a tight schedule to stick to.”

I got up from bed and tried pulling her up by her arm but that backfired when she pulled me on top of her so that our faces were inches apart. I stared into her eyes feeling my heart flutter. I'd liked Eve since the day she moved in and after spending time with her I started developing some strong feelings for her.

These past few months hadn't been perfect. In fact, they were far from it but this was one of the positives. I took New Year's Day as an opportunity to ask Eve out and she said yes much to my delight. And now, I got to wake up next to her every day and call her my girlfriend.

I felt Evermore kissing her way up my neck and as much as I was enjoying it, we had to be ready and be downstairs in like 30 minutes. “Eve, we are getting late.”

“Fine. You're no fun.”

I gave her one last kiss before we both got out of bed and got ready.

Once we were done showering and getting changed, Eve glanced at me in the mirror while she was braiding her hair. “I like this look.”

“Thank you.” I smiled back at her while tying the laces on my boots. I was dressed in equestrian styled clothing, much like everyone else since we were going to the horse ranch. Once we were done, we made our way downstairs where the others were already waiting for us. Rep looked exhausted clearly not used to being up this early.

I took a look around at everyone and noticed that the youngest member of the house was missing. “Where's Debut?”

“She said she's feeling sick. Thinks it's the flu. But Speak Now said she'll take care of her.”

“Are you sure?” I looked at Fearless for clarity.

“Yeah.”

“Okay, let's get going then.” Our group split into two separate cars for our drive to the horse ranch since the minivan was gone for maintenance.

I drove with Eve, 1989 and Lorie. Rep, Lover and Fearless went in the other car. I took a look in the rear-view mirror at the backseat where Folklore was busy pointing out some of the tress we passed to 1989 as the sun blared through the window. Eve was busy jotting something down in her journal.

I was smitten with Evermore and she made me feel really happy but not everyone in the house got along with her perfectly. She was into some… shadier extra curricular activities which I had gotten used to over time but not everyone felt the same way about them. Lover was nice to everyone but she definitely wasn't as close to Evermore as the rest of us. I'd tried to figure out the particulars of the problems between them but Eve insisted everything was fine and Lover wouldn't say anything bad about her to me. Whatever issues they had all stemmed from the day we got Fearless and Folklore back but at least they were friendly with each other.

Every few months, we all came out here to the ranch. Debut and Fearless loved horses and that kind of stuff and they got us into it. Now it was a group activity that we all did together or in this case most of us did together.
