My biggest oneshot to date!!!!
Plot
Lucifer went to the meeting with Heaven instead of Vaggie
Charlie walked into the lobby of the hotel where she looked at the board infront of her for ideas to redeem sinners, she sighed some after staring at it for a moment, the hotel had been opened for 7 months now, she hasn't successfully redeemed anyone or even get a single person to attend it for that matter. It honestly was getting to be a disappointment that was weighing down on her shoulders, like a weight she couldn't shrug off. She had made it her own mission to help redeem sinners and save her people from eternal torture and yet here she was utterly failing and letting them all down. She stood there for a moment before realizing what she had to do.
Walking up to her father's castle she found herself walking into his dimly lit study, inside she found her father sitting at his desk working on what she assumed was another duck for his collection, seeing the mounds of them around the room.
"Dad?" She called out to him as he stopped working and quickly turned around and looked at her.
"Charlie..." he said softly before rubbing his eyes wondering if it was just his brain playing a trick on him.
"Wh...what are you doing here?" He asked as he got up from his desk and started walking towards her, meeting her in the middle of the room as his eyes never left her, he wanted to reach out and give her a hug but wasn't sure how she would feel about it so decided to hold off.
"I..I need a favor dad" she asked after a moment. And lucifer wasn't even mad that she came here just for that. He was just happy to see his little girl again.
"Of course! Anything you need is yours for the taking appleseed" he said with a smile. She had been thinking about her hotel proposal nonstop, and she knew that getting a meeting with Heaven would be a game-changer.
"I...well, just gonna say it. I need you to get me a meeting with heaven" she said as she watched as her father's face faltered.
"I..no I don't think that's a good idea sweetie" he said nervously.
"Please dad..this could be what I need to turn my hotel around!" She said trying to convince him again.
"I...I dont know sweetie..surely there's something else you want instead?" He asked trying to get her off the heaven topic.
"You believe in me right?"
"Yes! Yes more then anything appleseed!" He said as he grasped her hands now.
"Then grant me this..show me you have faith in me" she said as Lucifer looked at her before sighing and nodding his head some.
"Ok sweetheart....you win, I'll get you the meeting" he said in a defeated tone, he knew how persistent his daughter was and he could never say no to her no matter how hard he tried.
Walking up to the gates of heaven he sighed some as he looked at them, this was a place that he never wished to see again, the pain and suffering that they had given to him when they kicked him out.
"Charlie and lucifer morningstar, here for a appointment with heaven" he heard Charlie say to the gatekeeper which pulled him out of his little trance. The gatekeeper looked at the book infront of him before he nodded and the gates started to open for them both. Getting inside Lucifer felt like he was walking on eggshells, trying to keep to himself and hope that he doesn't run into any of his family while he was up here.
Getting into the room they moved and took their seats as Sera sat across the table from them and...him.
"Hello brother...been a long time" Micheal said with a bit of a smirk towards Lucifer who merely looked down at the table trying to ignore Micheal and act like he wasn't even there.
"Hmmm, no greetings or nothing?"
"We are here to support Charlie...not bring up old dirt Micheal" Lucifer finally said as he looked up at Sera, refusing to even look at his brother right now.
"Mmmm....very well then" Micheal said as he picked up a piece of paper.
"So we are here to discuss this...hotel...that serves a purpose to redeem sinners and grant them passage into heaven" he said as he skimmed over it now before setting the paper back down.
"And why should we allow this to happen?" He asked Charlie as he put his hands together down on the table.
"I..to let sinners redeem themselves and get out of eternal torture, it's even in Heaven's rules to welcome sinners who meet the criteria with open arms?" She put out there with her hopeful smile as Micheal looked at her before tsking and looking back at the paper.
"And how do you plan to do this, you can't even get their own King to follow these rules" he said throwing another jab at Lucifer now whose grip had tightened on the chair he was residing in, seeing him tense up some Micheal smirked to himself and decided to throw another jab at him. Ignoring Charlie right now.
"You know, Lucifer, I've been thinking...maybe this hotel of hers is just a way to justify your own sins. A way to make yourself feel better about your own failures, you know you won't be able to prove yourself to Father. Should just give up on it that hope" He said with a professional tone still but was becoming clear he was trying to get a reaction from his brother. He watched as Lucifer squirmed in his chair some clearly wanting to be anywhere but here right now as his breathing picked up a little bit.
"I can tell your daughter is quite...enthusiastic about this project. It's almost as if she's trying to make up for her father's shortcomings." Micheal said firing one last jab hoping for a reaction, and he got just what he wanted. There was the sound of wood creaking as Lucifer's grip tighted on the chair before he ripped off one of the arms. He sat there breathing heavily as Charlie looked at him in shock.
"Whats wrong brother...something you want to say?" Micheal taunted now with a bit of a smirk playing in his face. Everything was quiet for a moment before Lucifer jumped from his chair and lunged across the table trying to grab Micheal, his horns had sprouted out as his eyes started to glow firery red.
"Dad! Stop!" Charlie cried out as she grabbed onto her dad's legs trying to hold him back.
"Please!" She pleaded, her eyes wide with alarm. Lucifer's face was twisted in a snarl, his eyes blazing with fury. For a moment, it seemed like he might shake off Charlie's grip and attack his brother in a fit of rage. Michael on the other looked like he was enjoying the show. He leaned back in his chair, a smug smile spreading across his face. "Oh, I see," he said, his voice dripping with condescension. "The great Lucifer Morningstar, brought down by his own temper." He teased out again, this was just the reaction he was hoping to get from his dear brother.
Lucifer's eyes flashed with anger again, but Charlie held tight to his legs trying to pull him back to his chair, refusing to let him go. "Dad, please," she said desperately
"Don't let him get to you."
Slowly Lucifer's rage seemed to dissipate, replaced by a cold, calculating fury as he looked back at Charlie. He took a deep breath as he nodded and crawled back off the table and sat back down in his chair before he turned back to Michael.
His eyes glinting with menace.
"This isn't over, brother," he hissed. "Not by a long shot."
Michael's smile never wavered. "I'm shaking in my boots, Lucifer," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
The tension in the room was thick and wafted in the air bringinga eiry quietness, Charlie knew that things were on the verge of escalating out of control. She tugged on her father's arm, trying to pull him back from the brink. "Dad, just dont acknowledge him" she urged.
"We're not going to get anywhere with him"
But Lucifer stood firm, his eyes locked on Michael in a fierce stare-down. It seemed like he was daring Michael to make another move, to push him just one step further.
"You won't get anywhere period" Sera chimed in now.
"It is clear to me that this will bring nothing but chaos to heaven, how can we expect sinners to act civilized if even their own King can't" she stated as Charlie looked at her now.
"N..no that's not fair! Micheal purposely tried to" she started in now trying to explain this entire situation, this wasn't going how she had planned it to.
"Typical sinners, blaming your problems on another person, my decision has been made to deny your hotel plan, and to deny any possibilities for a re-trial" she said as she sat up straight in her chair.
"But..y..You can't do that!" Charlie pleaded out before Sera waved her hand, the room glowed bright as they was zapped out of heaven and transported back to hell before Micheal and Sera shared a fist bump.
"Well played Micheal"
BACK AT THE HOTEL
They both landed on the ground with a thump as a rolled up scroll landed with Charlie. Grabbing the paper she opened it and read the print, a review of the meeting and the final decision to deny her hotel redemption plan and any possibilities for a second trial, she was livid at this point as she stared at the paper and what had just happened.
"How could they do this Dad!?" she demanded, her voice shaking with anger. "I poured my heart and soul into that proposal." Lucifer looked at her with a mixture of sadness and regret knowing that he had messed things up again.
"I'm sorry, Charlie. I know how much this meant to you."
Charlie's anger boiled over as she whipped her head over at him. This was all his fault!
She thought as she slammed her fist on the counter. "You're sorry? You're sorry!? You're the one who's supposed to be the Morningstar, The graceful ruler of hell that brings hope to our pleople! But now, you're just a fallen angel who can't even get a hotel approved because of his temper. Micheal was right, maybe I am just trying to make up for your short comings" she spat out at him. Lucifer's expression turned dark, and he took a step closer to Charlie.
"That's enough, Charlie. I understand you're upset, but you don't have to take it out on me, I am still your father" he said in a firm voice, which was a rare tone he ever had with her, only a handful of times since she was born. But Charlie was beyond reason. She was furious, hurt, and disappointed all at once. "I hate you!" she spat, turning her back on her father.
"Dont turn your back on me young lady!" He shouted out at her before she spun around with her horns sprouting out.
"I SHOULD'VE TURNED MY BACK ON YOU AGES AGO!" She practically yelled out at him. She was just done with this, done trying to get her father's approval or help, done trying to chase the man that walked out on her.
"No wonder mom left you" she spat out as she stormed out of the room now leaving Lucifer there. His mind was boiling with rage but after her last set of words, it was quickly turned into regret and pain, sensing that he wasn't welcomed anymore he snapped his fingers and teleported back to his castle where he sat back at his desk. He sat there for a moment before he lowered his head down onto the smooth wooden surface, he was all alone again....
Im..not sure if this should have a second part or end it here?
Mean, it works as a oneshot to leave it by itself an old let the reader imagine the rest.
