So I'm a big WW2 nut. I love watching all the documentaries and learning about them, and this idea popped into my head. I'm gonna see how It pans out.

I've had a thought of taking movie scenes that I love to watch and working them into hazbin Hotel if that would interest anyone?
If it does, let me know what movie you'd want to see this tried with?

ANGST AND ALIGHT GORE WARNING

(Longest oneshot to date. 4k words!)

Down in the trenches, Lucifer morningstar could be found at his tent trying to think, the enemies had encircled his platoon of soldiers and taken out all of his heavy vehicles, no tanks, no artillery or field guns, all they had was small arms to defend themselves with and to try and make a retreat. They had been trapped here for a few days already and were taking casualties this. All of Lucifers' fears were coming to a reality right now. Alastor walked into his tent, the second in command on this.
"Captain," he said but noticed how Lucifer didn't even acknowledge him entering.
"...helps not coming," he replied softly as he looked at the map. There was a big red circle drawn on it indicating that they were encircled. There was an X in the middle, and lines of what they assumed were the enemies positions.
"What do you mean, sir?" Alastor asked with concern as he moved over.
"I got a message out. The other platoons are pinned down as well and we are encircled, the enemy airforce is making it impossible to drop supplies for us...we are on our own" he said before standing up straight and grunting, grabbing his side before he doubled over, grabbing onto the table to support himself.
"Sir!"
"Im *cough* fine." He wheezed out, Lucifer had been caught in the side by an enemy round when it ricochet off a building, but he wanted his troops to get help first The commanders duty is to look over his troops. He pulled his hand away to see it now coated golden with his blood.
"Shit," he mumbled under his breath.
"Grab me that roll of gauze Lieutenant," Lucifer ordered, Alastor did as he was told and moved over, grabbing the roll as Lucifer stood up and removed his uniform. Pulling it off and tossing it into the chair before removing his blood-soaked shirt and the bandages. This revealed the extent of his wound, the blood pumped out of it slowly and the skin around it was red and inflamed, it was possible that an infection was trying to start since the wound hadn't been cleaned yet. Lucifer had been dragged out of danger to safety and at the time he was still worried about the safety of his platoon and getting them all out alive, and so far he hasn't stopped worrying about it either. For now, all he was doing was just wrapping wound and hoping to get it fixed later.
"Sir, you need to get that look,"
"Give me the roll," he said, cutting him off, Alastor didn't move fast enough as Lucifer grabbed it from his hands and started to re-wrap the bandages himself.
"I'll get it looked at once we get out of here. Or who knows, the enemy may take care of it for me, " he said before he finished wrapping it and tucked it in and put on a fresh shirt and his uniform on.
"We are helpless right now.. we need to come up with a plan.. find an escape route or something," he said as he went back to the map as he tried to think of a solution.
"We will work in the cover of night, send teams out to look for weak spots in the enemies lines, we have supplies to last for a few days if we ration. Time is not on our side, Lieutenant, " Lucifer said as he looked up at him now.
"You have your orders, you're dismissed," he said, Alastor gave a salute before turning to leave the tent. But he stopped and looked back at him.
"You need to take care of yourself dear...your not good to us if you die," he said before slipping outside. Yes, the Lieutenant was married to the captain himself. But they kept it all on the down low since they aren't suppose to work together, the army turned a blind eye to it most times due to how well Lucifers platoon worked, they was all from the same hometown, grew up together and all got drafted into the army, Lucifer was the only one who was already in it before the war broke out, which let him get to the rank of captain, giving him some pull to get all of them under his command, though at times he regrets doing this, in situations just like this because if it goes wrong and he looses any of them..its all on his shoulders. There wouldn't be no going back to his hometown to escape it. Everything he would do there would only remind him of the person.
Alastor walked over to the platoon...or what remained of them.
"Ok, troops listen up. The situation is turning dire, and help is not coming, so it is up to us to get out of this mess, We have limited supplies, a few days at most if we ration. We will start work tonight and look for weak spots in the enemies lines and try and find a viable escape route" he said as he gave them a quick rundown of the situation and what was going on.
"Charlie, Vaggie. You both have the west. Angel and Husker, you take the east. Pentious and cherry, you take the South, Nifty, and me will take the North"
"I didn't sign up for that crap," Husker grumbled out
"I was building cars back home before all this,"
"You're in the army now. It's not a job. It's an adventure, " Alastor said, trying to get him on board.
"The hell with this, I have a family back home and everything to think about," Husker said before the others joined in the conversation.
"Im with ya smiles,"
"Yeah, me too,"
"Im in."
"No guts, no glory,"
"Alright, alright....ill..stay and watch over Angel dust," he grumbled out again.
Under the cover of the night, they started their scouting before meeting up the next morning.
"Any luck?" Alastor asked.
"Nothing on my side."
"A lot of troops and heavy weapons"
"Its light on my side, there is only a handful of troops and no heavy armor, at night it's possible we could slip past them" Charlie chimed in now, Alastor thought some and motioned her to follow him as they made their way back to the captains tent, inside they found Lucifer not doing the greatest, his wound was still bleeding but much slower then before. His skin had turned pale, and he was having a hard time moving around.
"We may have a solution here, dad," Charlie said as she walked in.
"Show me," he said. His voice was weak, and it only showed more of his complete exhaustion. He watched as Charlie pointed out on the map.
"If we move here, the forces are very light, I think we can move through it without being detected," Charlie said as she looked back up at her dad.
"Do we have any other options?" He asked. They looked at each other before shaking their heads.
"All the other sides are heavily enforced, and if we wait there's a chance that more enforcements could arrive here and then it will be a suicide attempt" Alastor said as he reviewed the other corners.
"So we have no other choice..." he said as he thought about it for a moment.
"Get the men together, we will move out tonight before they have a chance to reinforce that side," he finally said before Alastor saluted and left the tent.
"You ok, dad?" Charlie asked softly as she looked at her father.
"Im.. just peachy dear...nothing..I can't handle," he said with a bit of a smile, trying to calm her.
"This isn't a game dad..you need to take care of yourself as well,"
"I will, Charlie, but I have more pressing matters to handle at the moment," he said with a bit of a smile.
"Well, I don't think you are dad," she added in.
"I know what I need to do, Charlie!" He snapped out at her. His exhaustion and pain. Mixed with hardly any sleep at night as he's always trying to keep an eye on the enemy, it was all piling up on his, and it finally snapped.
"I need to get my platoon out of this situation, I need to get them back home to their families, I need to get you out of here" he said as his voice trailed off at the end. Charlie was a little hurt with how he snapped at her, but at the same time, she knew exactly what he was dealing with.
"Dad...your a great leader, there isn't a place that we wouldn't follow you or not a single one of us that wouldn't lay down our life for you...but you have to take care of yourself" she said as she reached over and grasped his hand. He hesitated a moment before squeezing back.
"I just don't want to let you all down," he said softly.
"You won't,"
He smiled some before wincing and holding his side. He was losing the battle as his body was drained of all energy, Charlie cried out as she watched her dad collapse onto the floor.
"Dad!" She cried out as she rounded the table.
"ALASTOR!" She yelled out, hoping he would've heard her. It took a minute before the tent door was thrown to the side, and he was quickly looking around before seeing her and Lucifer on the ground. He quickly ran over to them and kneeled down.
"What happened?" He asked quickly.
"We was talking, and he grabbed at his side before he just collapsed onto the ground," she said as she put a hand on his forehead. His skin was warm and clammy to the touch.
"He's running a fever," she said, having a feeling it was all due to the bullet and not getting it treated or cleaned.
"Im going to go and get Pentious. He needs to treat this wound," Charlie said as she left the tent as Alastor grabbed Lucifers hand.
"Come on love...wake up" he said gently as he tapped his cheeks, some earning a groan from his husband. Alastor watched as his eyes blinked open slowly.
"Wh..what happened..." he asked softly.
"You passed out dear, Charlie is getting pentious to come and treat that wound."
"Ha... have to keep going," he said as he tried to sit up only to have Alastor push down on his shoulders.
"You need to rest some dear, just how far do you think you'll make it like this?" He asked.
"But"
"No buts, we are all team here. You can rely on us to take care of things. Just rest. You'll need your strength for tonight. " Lucifer was about to argue before seeing the look on Alastors face and groaning out
"Fine... just until tonight," he said, knowing Al wasn't going to give in on this any. Pentious came in and examined the wound.
"The bullet is still embedded inside your skin, But I fear it may cause more damage to go digging around inside for it then leaving it be until we get to a safer and more stable place" he said as he pushed around some.
"Your skins inflamed and showing signs of infection, that's what's causing the fever right now, Unfortunately I am low on medication so the best I can do is give you a shot of morphine to ease the discomfort from this. Your best bet is to just get some rest, your body needs time to bounce back sir" he said as he applied some paste to the wound to try and subdue the infection before wrapping it up in fresh gauze.
"Rest while you can if we are leaving tonight. You need every bit of strength you can muster, " he said as he picked up his things before walking out of the tent.
"Let's get you to bed," Alastor said as he grabbed Lucifer and picked him up bridal style. He tried his best to be careful of his wound as he carried him over to the cot and laid him down. He went to say something but saw his eyes already closed and his chest rising and falling steadily. His brain finally gave up and let his body get the rest it so desperately needed right now. Alastor motioned for Charlie to follow her out of the tent.
"Let's get with the others and form a plan for tonight," he said as she nodded in agreement.
Nightfall couldn't come any faster for the tired troops. They had taken turns standing watch while others slept in preparation for tonight before Alastor walked around, waking them all up.
"Get up everyone, start getting your gear ready," he said quietly as a figure appeared behind him. He looked over to see Lucifer walking towards them. He was looking better than earlier, but he was still terrible.
"How are you feeling?"
"Better than I was," he said as he panted softly. Just the walk from his tent to the troops was already wearing him out.
"Sir...pardon me for asking, but are fit to lead this mission tonight?" Angel chimed. Lucifer turned and looked at them. He knew he wasn't in no shape to lead them right now. He thought some before smiling a little.
"Im not going to lead you tonight," he said as they looked a little surprised.
"She is," he said as he pointed to Charlie.
"M..me?" She asked, shocked.
"Wh..what about Alastor, he's the second in command,"
"And will be needed to keep me from falling behind the rest of you," he said as he looked at her.
"Your a born leader sweetie, you put others before yourself and your a smart and quick thinker, I have full faith that you will get us out of here" he said as Charlie looked at him before smiling a little.
"You heard the man, grab your gear, and prepare to move out."
They moved quickly and efficiently at packing up their supplies before heading towards the weak spot in the line. Quietly making their way through the town.
"A..al..wait..wait up" Lucifer oanted out as his body was running on fumes once again.
"Come on dear, we have to keep moving,"
"I..I can't keep this up," he said as he leaned against the side of a building.
"We've made it this far love...don't give up now," Alastor said as he turned around towards him before picking up the captain.
"If you can't make it, then I will carry you the rest of the way" he said before moving back through to catch up with the rest of the group who soon arrived at the line.
"Alright...one at a time, slip through and make a move to the tree line, but stay silent," Charlie said before giving the signal for Angel to go. Running across the street and past the enemy. The others followed soon, and it seemed like the plan was going to work until pentious ran across, tripping on a brick sticking up in the round and landing with a grunt.
"Hey. Whose there!" A gaurd called out while spotlights shined on the street now revealing him.
"Get him!" They called out before the bullets started to fly. Pentious scrambled back to his feet and booked it across the road and ducked into an open window, seeking cover. The rest took cover behind the house as the guns from the enemy tanks belched out flames and bellowed out smoke before the shell whined through the air and impacting the building, sending rubble flying everywhere and filling the street with thick clouds of dust. Charlie thought quickly and looked at her parents.
"You gotta go now!" She said as Lucifers head whipped up to meet hers.
"No, not happening," he said quickly while looking at her.
"Dad, I'm giving you an order to obey. And I expect it to be followed!" Charlie said, pulling the rank card as he did assign her to be the mission leader.
"This isn't a discussion. You're my daughter! I won't leave you! We are all leaving here together!"
"Dad, listen to me, just stop!" Charlie said as she moved over to him.
"You run, you don't look back, you run, don't stop," she said as it was setting in.
"No..." he said as his heart was starting to break, the realization hitting him full force right now as another shell whizzed down the street and impacted the ground.
"You don't stop. You don't hide. You run, and you don't look back, " She said as she looked at him and up at Alastor.
"We are all leaving here together!" Lucifer said in a final plea of desperation as the tears moved down his face now.
"Dad...I will find you when you're safe.. you have to let me go.. you have to let me go, " she said as she grabbed onto his hands. There was no way they could all make it out under the heavy fire. their cover had been blown, and Lucifer knew it no matter how much he wanted to deny it.
"Lucifer... we have to," Alastor said as he was watching this play out amd weighing the options. He knew what Charlie was planning to do, and he Lucifer couldn't move fast enough to create a gap. And Charlie couldn't move Lucifer fast enough. It was the best option they had.
"...you come back! You come back!" Lucifer said as he grabbed onto her hands, knowing he couldn't do anything to change this.
"Vaggie, go with my parents!"
"Not a chance, we started this together, we are going to finish this together,"
"But it's too dangerous, I'm not going to risk anyone else's life, I need to buy them time to retreat!" She said as she turned to leave before Vaggie grabbed her hand.
"Then I can double that time," she said with a smirk. Charlie looked at her for a moment before returning the look. She picked up her rifle and pulled the slide back, making sure there was ammo in it before nodding at vaggie.
"When the next shell lands, you run," she said as they waited a moment before the loud explosion of the tank firing was heard once more before the streets were filled with thick dust once more. Charlie and Vaggie ran out of the cover and started to return fire while Alastor ran across the street carrying Lucifer in his hands. Vaggie watched behind her as she watched them make it across.
"They made it!" She called out towards Charlie, who internally sighed with relief.
"Fall back!" She called out as they continued to pepper the enemy with shots. Trying to stall them before hearing shots from behind them. All the shooting had attracted the forces from other corners of the city.
"In here!" She called out as she dove into a building soon, followed by Vaggie. The bullets were bouncing off the brick side of the building, leaving small craters on the exterior. It was clear it wasn't going to last long. Charlie thought frantically as she thought of how to get out of this situation, but one thing was clear, at least, with all the fire focused on them, it left the others free to escape.
"Think Charlie Think!" She said to herself before there was a loud explosion, and both her and Vaggie were thrown to the ground, and her side erupted with pain as she screamed out. She felt Vaggie grab her arm and drag her away from the window and behind a desk, trying to gain more cover.
"I don't know how much longer I can keep this up, Charlie," she said as she continued to return fire. It wasn't long before she ran out of ammo and went to grab her hand gun. Pulling it out and checking the magazine.
"1 round left...hell with it," she said before she fired out the window but stopped as she heard the sound of machine guns going off and tank fire. The building was rocked by the explosions as the enemy tanks erupted in balls of fire before it all fell silent.
"CHARLIE, VAGGIE CALL OUT," a voice said through the dust.
"Alastor!" Vaggie cried out happily as she got up and went to the window, seeing a figure quickly approaching them.
"Oh, thank goodness you're ok. Where's charlie?" he asked.
"I need a medic over here now," Vaggie said as she motioned him to follow.
"MEDIC!" Alastor yelled out over his shoulder as he climbed through the window and followed vaggie inside where Charlie was curled up on the floor holding her side.
"She got hit by shrapnel or something when they fired upon the building.

*2 months later*

Lucifer stood in front of his platoon. He was standing at a little podium with a medal.
"There's soldiers who play the game, work the system and bide their time to climb the chain...But as I stand here thinking of the life of Charlie Morningstar....few words come to mind, bravery...tactics..intelligence and selflessness. She was willing to give her life that day so others may live, " he said as he wiped a tear from his eye as he read his speech.
"She has truly earned the medal she is about to receive," he said as he turned to his right and watched as Charlie walked up the steps towards the podium. She had spent 7 weeks in the hospital healing, and the tank that fired into the building had a fragmentation shell that detonated, filling her abdominal section with 74 pieces of shrapnel. The doctors fought for almost an entire day trying to remove everything and struggled to keep the infection away. But she had pulled through much to everyone's relief.
She stopped in front of her father and saluted at him.
"It is my honor to bestow this medal to you, Sergant Charlie Morningstar," he said as he moved and pinned the purple heart to her chest.
"Thank you sir...but I couldn't have done it without Vaggie," she said as she stood there holding the salute.
"I know this sergant. She is getting rewarded for her heroic feats." he said before saluting to her as well before she turned and left the stage, and Vaggie started her way up before stopping
"Vaggie... you went above and beyond the call of duty the dreadful night. Risking your life to save others, mine included, yet you turned down the medal, " he said as he looked at her.
"There was something I wanted even more than a medal sir," she said, to which he merely smiled.
"Yes, I am aware, that is why I am proud to give you your new uniform," he said as he picked it up from the table and handed it to her. She looked at the sleeves. Her rank of private had been changed out to the rank of Sergant. After getting a salute from Lucifer, she turned and exited the stage.
"I couldn't be more proud of you all, you was all extraordinary in the line of fire, you didn't faulter, you didn't give in even under what felt like certain defeat" he said as he looked at them all and smiled. He trusted his life with his men, and they did the same for him, following him into battle no matter the situation they in.
