The kitchen was filled with a warm, familiar aroma as Y/N sat at the table, savoring the quiet start to the morning. She absentmindedly poked at her breakfast, waiting for Jotaro to join her. Moments later, he finally emerged from the kitchen, carrying two steaming cups of coffee. He placed one in front of her, the faintest smile gracing his face."Thanks, Jotaro," she murmured, taking a sip.
As soon as the coffee hit her taste buds, she paused, surprised by the taste. It was exactly how she liked it—neither too bitter nor too sweet, perfectly balanced. She glanced up at Jotaro with a puzzled look. He had only made her coffee once before, and that had been years ago. How could he remember exactly how she liked it?
"Did you... remember how I like my coffee?" she asked, trying to keep her tone light, though a small unease flickered within her.
Jotaro shrugged, taking a sip of his own coffee. "I perfected it, that's all," he replied nonchalantly.
She laughed nervously, brushing off the strange feeling. "Yeah, right. Well, it's great. Thanks."
They sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, sipping their coffee. But as she continued to drink, that unsettling thought wouldn't leave her mind. Jotaro had always been a bit aloof, distant even, but something about him felt different now. She couldn't quite place it—he seemed... closer, somehow. His gaze lingered just a little longer, his presence more attentive.
She decided to ignore the feeling for now and focus on something more concrete. Setting her cup down, she looked at him seriously. "Have there been any more... incidents? You know, like the murders?"
Jotaro nodded, his expression unreadable. "Some women have gone missing around town. It's been happening for a while, but people have mostly learned to ignore it and go on with their lives."
She frowned, sensing there was more to it. "You think it's a Stand user, don't you?"
He nodded, not looking particularly surprised by her deduction. "Probably. Josuke and I already dealt with one Stand user who was a murderer not too long ago. Josuke also tracked down the man with the arrow, but someone with an electricity Stand took it."
Y/N let out a long sigh, feeling the weight of the constant dangers in this town. "It's like there's always something here. Trouble never seems to end."
Jotaro looked at her with a calm reassurance, but she could see a flicker of something else in his gaze—something protective, almost possessive. "We'll handle it," he said, his voice firm.
Nodding, she took a forkful of the pancakes he had made for her. As soon as she tasted them, though, she felt an odd bitterness, like a faint metallic tang. Her eyes drifted to the red streaks swirling through the fluffy layers, and her stomach tightened slightly.
"What's... what's in the pancakes?" she asked, trying to keep her tone casual. "There's something red in here."
Jotaro smiled slightly, his gaze unwavering. "Just blended raspberries," he answered calmly.
She let out a sigh of relief, feeling silly for worrying. "Oh, okay. I thought it was something else for a second."
As she continued eating, she glanced at Jotaro, who was watching her with a strange intensity, almost as if he was savoring her every movement. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was... different about him. His behavior, the coffee, the strange taste in the pancakes—everything felt off, but not enough for her to voice her concerns.
What she didn't know, as she took another bite, was that the red streaks in the pancakes weren't raspberries at all. It was Jotaro's blood. A part of him, quite literally, had been woven into her breakfast. He watched her eat, satisfied in a way she couldn't possibly understand. For him, this was a way of being closer to her—binding himself to her in a way she would never suspect.
Y/N remained oblivious to the truth, laughing and chatting with him as she finished her meal, completely unaware of the lengths he had gone to feel connected to her. To Jotaro, it was a perfect start to the day—a small, hidden way of marking his devotion, something only he knew. And in the depths of his heart, he relished the thought that, in some secret way, he was now a part of her.
