Dear Journal,
Regulus was studying in the library again. The empty seat next to him was just begging for me to sit down so I did. He looked up as I sat down next to him. He looked at the book in my hands and there was a hint of a smile on his face as he said, "Another love story?"
"Yep," I said happily as I opened it up and began reading.
He shook his head and tried to focus on his own book but his eyes kept wandering to the words on my book every couple of seconds. He sighed and said, "That soppy stuff is so stupid. Do you really read it and think it's romantic or something?"
"Well, of course I do," I said, "It's hopeful."
He scoffed, "How is it hopeful when it's not even realistic? Those silly love stories don't happen in real life."
"How do you know?" I asked.
He rolled his eyes, "It's called common sense. They're all too soppy and unrealistic. No relationship in real life is ever that picture perfect like what's written in those books."
I couldn't help but smile, "Okay, Regulus."
He was about to say something again until he noticed my smile and he paused. For a moment, it looked like he was taken aback. It was the first time in a long time he had seen me smile at him like that.
"What?" he asked self-consciously, "Why are you smiling at me like that?"
"Just... because."
