Chapter 13: Rouges

Cole's Pov

I ran without knowing where I was going. Jack guided me by scent. I could see how she zig-zaged her scent so as not to be tracked easily. She's clever but she could not trick me. I followed her scent to an old cabin. She's been here but she left a little while ago. I know the one place she would go. I went back to the water fall where I caught her before she could jump. While I was looking, I saw two rouges come up behind me. I cracked my neck and stared them down. I don't have time for this. I quickly shifted into my wolf form and killed the rouges by ripping out there throats. These rouge attacks were getting more and more frequent. I'll sort that out later but I have to find Marci. I shifted back leaving my shorts on. I ran deeper into the forest back to the school to see if she was at our bench. She wasn't and I sat down remembering the short but loved moments we had on this bench. Way to go Cole. Only knew your mate for two days and yet you already fucked up your whole relationship. Whoopee-fucking-do. I was lost in my thoughts until I heard my dad voice come into my head.

'Hey, did you find Marci?' Dad says. No dad I didn't but I ran into some rouges. I report back to my dad. 'Cole!' Dad yells before sighing. 'Look we will take care of the rouges later, but you won't be able to do or focus anything until you find Marci.' I know dad I just don't know where she is. She isn't where I've taken her and her scent is hard to find since she used her techniques to hide from me in the first place. I need your help. She may be my mate but she blocked me out. I've done something that we can talk about later. She doesn't trust me, and I fear that she never will.

He stayed quite till I finished what I had to say. Then, he said 'That's cause your doing it all wrong. Your tracking her by scent aren't you?' He asks. Yeah, so what? I ask back. 'Take it from me, don't smell. Feel. You never knew this but your mom was quite a woman. When we first met she ran away and I had to track her just like you have to track Marci. I searched for days and couldn't pick up her smell. Just as I was about to give up, I felt her. I could feel her every being and that same day I found her. And look at us now. Happily Married with you and your sister.'

I thought about it and soon I saw me and Marci getting married, and having children. A boy who would have my strength and a girl who would look just like Marci and both have her perfect voice. I can see it, I told my dad. I can see our future. 'So could I son, now go and find your mate.' And with that he cut the connection. I relaxed onto the bench and thought of the first time I saw her, siting with tears on her face and sunlight on her body. Her voice singing getting my knees to buckle. I thought of how she makes me laugh and all of a sudden I knew were she was. I could feel her just like my dad said. I got up from the bench and was running through the forest when I felt something get stuck into my neck. Instantly i felt drowsy. I pulled it out and saw that it was a tranquilizer dart. I fell to the ground and I felt myself start to lose consciousness. Before I could sleep, I saw a two shadows stand over me and heard a low voice saying "Good now we go get the girl."

No Not Marci! I try to stand up but I just can't. That was a really strong dart! Shit! I'm sorry Marci. Then I fall into a dark abyss.

Marci's Pov

I'm running towards where Jenna tells me Cole is, when I hear a slight 'shoot' sound goes throughout my ears. What was that? I ask my wolf Jenna. 'I don't know but I don't like it. We should hurry back to Cole.' I nod my head, this would be a lot faster if we shifted I said to her. 'It would but it's not safe here. We need get back to our mate.' I sighed and ran until I got to the waterfall were Cole first caught me as I tried to run away from him. I run a lot don't I? Oh well. Jenna was telling me that this is were Cole is, but something's off. I look around and at first I don't see anything, but then I see some shadows from the trees across the waterfall. Who could possibly be over there? I start to make my way over the waterfall. Oh Shit, I forgot I can't swim!

I stood to the side and saw how the rocks made a makeshift bridge across the top of the waterfall. Oh, i get it. I jumped carefully so as not to slip, and what seemed like an eternity later came to the other end of the waterfall. Oh thank the goddess i didn't slip and get myself wet. I walked to the trees where I saw the shadows and what I saw horrified me. Two wolves were left on the ground unmoving. I scanned their bodies and I saw that their throats were ripped out. I almost gagged at the sight but I regained my composure and started to head back to the other side of the waterfall. Jenna you lied, Cole wasn't here. Before she could reply, I felt a hand clamp over my mouth and something get stuck into my neck. I tried to struggle but soon, I felt my body go limp. "Help." Was the last thing that I croaked out before my world went black.
