SUMMARY: Ruth Beatrice 'Ruby' Humphrey* was a Pogue. Which, seemed to surprise both the Pogues and the Kooks. She truly didn't know why it mattered, she never really cared for the titles. Or, hadn't until Rafe Cameron told her that she was 'too pretty to be a Pogue'. She punched him.
JJ Maybank had witnessed the entire thing, and swore he had immediately fallen for the girl.
He helped her run form an angered Kelce.
That was how she ended up meeting JJ Maybank, John B. Routledge, Kiara Carrera, and Pope Hayward. It was the beginning of how she would fall in love with JJ Maybank.

²︎:  JJ offering to teach Ruby how to surf.

³︎: Ruby offering JJ her place to stay, if his father was ever mad at him

⁴︎:  her checking his injuries

⁵︎:  "tell Ruby she's pretty hot for a Pogue!" Rafe which leads to JJ trying to attack him

"They don't like anyone if there last name isn't Humphrey or McCall."

"Can't you take anything seriously?!"

⁷︎: When JJ falls overboard, she dives in after him

⁸︎: when she sees the wounds his father caused (hot tub scene) she is the first to hug him.
And she didn't argue with him on why he spent his half on a hot tub. (Although she was a bit confused and worried as to why he wouldn't use the money to get away from his father)

⁹︎:  she starts to fight the gaurd's who was dragging JJ out of the party

¹︎⁰︎: while on the island, they got closer

¹︎¹︎:  JJ staying up, knowing that Ruby had insomnia, to talk to her so she wouldn't be alone while everyone was awake (on the island)

¹︎²︎:  when JJ fell asleep, she would try to get him in a comfortable place, and play with his hair
