The first ray of midday sunlight had just begun to filter through the cracks in the window when Narinder opened his eyes. He was curled up in the center of the bed, between his two husbands. He felt the shared warmth of their bodies, a gentle reminder of the union that now bound them forever. Although the room was permeated with a faint smell of lamb and goat sweat, Narinder did not find it unpleasant; on the contrary, it seemed to him a tangible proof of the closeness and love they shared.
Carefully, he turned his head to look at them. Goliath was fast asleep to his left, his large chest rising and falling rhythmically with each breath. His snores, loud and deep, would have disturbed anyone else, but to Narinder they were an oddly comforting melody. Lambert, to his right, was resting peacefully. Although he wasn't snoring, he was making adorable little lamb sounds that made Narinder smile in pure love.
Narinder sighed, staring at the ceiling for a moment. There was so much to reflect on. His mind wandered back to the past, to everything he had experienced since his release. He remembered the sacrifices he made, the cruelty he showed towards his brothers, the recovery of Baal and Aym, and the romantic reunion with Lambert. He remembered the unexpected twist of his fate when he met Goliath, a creature who had entered his life as a rival, only to transform into a source of love and strength.
Now, here he was, lying next to his two loves, with a new life that seemed so far away from the darkness and loneliness of the Veil. He wasn't sure how much time had passed since his release. His perception of time had been distorted by confinement; months felt like years, or perhaps weeks. Yet, he suspected it had only been a few months. But what did it matter? He had done so much in such a short time.
With a soft smile, he looked down and let his hands move carefully over Lambert and Goliath's backs. He took his time to appreciate the differences between the two. Lambert's wool was soft and fluffy, a reminder of his inherent tenderness. In contrast, Goliath's rough and somewhat messy fur reflected his rough and wild nature. Each texture gave him a different sensation, but both were equally comforting and necessary.
"I'm here... with you," he murmured to himself, barely audible.
There were no wonderful dreams to remember, but no nightmares to fear either. There was only peace, an unexpected victory in the constant struggle of his mind. As he continued to caress them, his smile grew. Narinder felt happy with himself, and that was enough.
The first movement on the bed was Lambert's, who opened his eyes slowly, still wrapped in the warmth of sleep. She looked at Narinder, her pupils shining with tenderness as a soft smile formed on her face. With delicate movements, she brought her face closer to the god's and whispered:
—A very good morning, my love.
Lambert sealed his greeting with a kiss on Narinder's lips, sweet and full of pure, unhurried love. Narinder closed his eyes for a moment, feeling the softness of his lamb's lips, and then smiled back, his eyes shining with warmth.
—Good morning to you too —he replied in a soft voice, caressing Lambert's face with the palm of his hand, as if he wanted to memorize every detail of his beloved.
Before they could sink further into their moment, Goliath stirred, his rough, messy movements awakening him from his reverie. The still sleepy goat used Narinder's shoulder to scratch one eye and let out a wide yawn before speaking,
"Good morning, you two," he growled in a hoarse voice, still heavy with sleep.
Narinder, with a playful smile, leaned toward Goliath and gave him a soft kiss on the lips, one that held a mix of affection and amusement.
"Good morning to you too, my stubborn goat," he said, as Lambert's light laughter filled the room.
However, the god knew that his responsibilities called him, even if he wished to stay between his husbands all day. With a resigned sigh, Narinder announced,
