The sudden sound of the door slamming broke the stillness of the morning, causing Lambert to perk up his ears and Narinder, still immersed in the warmth of the embrace, to turn his head in curiosity. There was Goliath, entering the house with the same carefree attitude as always, as if this was his place from the beginning. The heat of the day seemed to affect him as he walked with determined steps towards the bed.
Narinder, far from being embarrassed as he would have been on another occasion, let out a small laugh. This scenario, which would have been disconcerting at another time, now seemed to him a perfect mix of chaos and affection.
Goliath, without saying anything else, settled himself on the bed on the other side of Narinder, pushing slightly to make room and throwing out a comment that seemed the most natural:
—More ice is needed.
With a mocking smile, he rubbed his cheek against Narinder's, as if that gesture was an everyday occurrence. The rough, slightly warm texture of his fur contrasted with the softness of Lambert on the other side, but the god couldn't help but smile as he felt an unexpected warmth.
Lambert, observing the scene, let out an amused chuckle and, as if accepting the undeclared challenge, decided to imitate Goliath. He leaned down to rub his cheek on Narinder's other side, making it clear that he wasn't going to be left behind.
Narinder was puzzled at first, looking at both bovids on either side of him, but soon the confusion gave way to a wide, genuine smile. Something about this scene, chaotic and sweet, filled his heart with a very pleasant peace.
Without saying a word, Narinder put his arms around both of them, hugging them tightly. He closed his eyes, letting that moment be etched into his memory, a reminder that not everything in his existence had to be pain and conflict.
With a gesture full of tenderness, he first kissed Lambert's forehead, feeling the softness of his wool, and then Goliath's, noticing the warm roughness of his fur. Both remained silent, as if they were synchronized in that perfect moment.
The sun continued to rise, but inside the room, time seemed to stop. Narinder, surrounded by his two loves, allowed himself to enjoy that tranquility, feeling that, for the first time in a long time, he had everything he needed.
Narinder continued to hold both of them with his arms, the shared warmth of their bodies filling the room beyond the physical. It was a strange, but delicious peace, and although he knew that they would eventually have to get up, he wanted to prolong the moment.
"And why did you lie here in my bed?" Narinder asked with a mix of curiosity and playfulness, raising an eyebrow as he looked at Goliath.
The goat frowned, his usual gruff attitude intact, and replied in a dry, somewhat rude tone:
—What do you care!
However, instead of getting upset, Narinder, accustomed to having sacrificed followers for less insolence, smiled. With Goliath it was different, and he knew it. There was something about that brazen attitude that he found... charming, although he would never admit it out loud.
Lambert, always the most mischievous, let out a mocking laugh as he stroked the soft wool of his own cheek against Narinder's chest.
"Well, I think you were a little hot," he commented, throwing a hint as he glanced sideways at the goat.
Goliath straightened up a little, still with his arms around Narinder, and replied with mock indignation:
"There are different kinds of heat!" he rebutted, raising his voice before leaning closer to Narinder, as if that was his way of winning the argument. Then he added in a defiant tone: "And I came to request ice, that's all."
