Alexa and I had just returned from the banks and meeting a realtor to sell our father's plumbing business and everything else that went with the plumbing business. Alice was waiting for us with lunch and dinner. She called us when we were at the gas station in Jaime's Porsche. We told her we would be home after we got gas. She told us she had left food for the other four with the same food. Jaime stops, and I get out, and she drives in the garage.
" Alexa, everything is still warm. The directions are on this paper here so you know what temperature and how long to finish cooking the dinner. You can keep the rubber maid containers. My family is sorry for your and your wife loss. I lost my parents years ago and still miss them every day."
I read the directions quickly, and my wife came outside from inside our home. Alice hugged her and expressed her condolences. We thanked her, and she left in her new car. The one that Julia bought finally dies. Alice has bad luck with vehicles per Julia. We all were surprised she kept the one Julia got her working so long. Jaime and I sols our Mazdas about the same time our parents sold their fords. We went inside. Jaime closes the door and locks it. She turned the alarm on. We noticed Merry Maid employees were here. We could smell the perfume one of the ladies. She has a tenancy of spraying too much. I placed the one container of enchiladas in the oven after I removed them and placed them in a corning ware glass container. I put the beans and rice in other corning ware containers, too. I rinse off the rubber maid containers and place them in the dishwasher. Jaime is getting our beers out now. She warmed up the Kungpao chicken and rice up. We sit down and begin to eat the delicious meal.
"Alexa, are shoes in the garage hung up like you wanted to in the note to the cleaning ladies. They were able to get the mud and tar off our shoes. The city didn't have a sign out saying beware of tar. We couldn't even smell it, which was odd in itself. We still have to go through all the bills and write checks to them, and mail them out. At least we were able to cancel their cellphone bills. I am glad the employees at our father's plumbing business agreed to still work. I hope whomever buys it will keep them on. I just feel bad that we couldn't promise them a job. We don't know if the new buyer keeps them employed what their pay and benefits will be like." " Jaime, true. We sold their personal vehicles and contacted their insurances and dmv . At least that was taken care of this morning. We were up early. We got our exercise in with Silvia and Julia, they made us breakfast and cleaned the kitchen. After we eat lunch, let's take a nap. We did a lot."
We finished our delicious food and cleaned our mess. We went upstairs to use the restroom and brush and floss our teeth. We changed into pajama bottoms and just wore our sports bras we had and passed out.
Julia and I were at Cindy's place. We still refer it to her place only.
" Silvia and I made breakfast for them and cleaned the kitchen. They woke up before sunrise and already jogged 15 miles, not like you two idiots. You two are still hurting. Anyway, they sold all their parents' personal vehicles. They had errands to do. I just hope they take a nap."
Cindy and Sophie agreed that they were doing a lot, especially from their own experiences. People need to keep busy to get things done when a person dies. Even if you are grieving. They want to do the rest themselves, and we have to respect that. The four of them finished watching a reality TV show and said they were going to go to the hotels to get dessert so they didn't have to bake any. We didn't get up when they left. Julia locked the door. We fell tired and definitely sore. We laid down on our sides on the couch and fell asleep.
Julia and I got home. We took out all of our vehicles out so the people we hired could detail each one. They would be arriving soon. In the meantime, we opened up two bottles of Gatorade and started drinking them. We saw the people coming on the screen, so we removed the vehicle keys and fobs only from the house keys. We both went outside and greeted them. We told them what we wanted for each vehicle. We then returned inside to take a much need on the couch. We knew that with two men only, it would take time. We used them on several occasions for our vehicles. They usually leave late and eat dinner here outside.
