The Nie siblings shared a look seeing who their first oponent was, but didn't say a thing.

Wen Yuexuan went on to explain the rules, "each member of the team will fight with a member from the opposing team. On your first round, each member of your team should fight once. On the following rounds, you are free to pick who competes" he spoke with a smile.

"We will record your perfomance though, and despite the group perfomance being important your participation matters as well" He continued as the junior disicples began to stretch and set prepare for the tournament.

Group seven remained silent, Jin Rulan couldn't stand it especially because he felt that the two sibling pairs could somehow communicate in silence while he stood there awkwardly. "So..." the Jin hier finally started hesitantly, "we're fighting the Wen sisters..." he said trying to get everyone's attention.

Jingyi obviously caught his weak plea for company and responded with a smile, "The Wen sisters don't have much of a reputation, nor have I fought them before" he said with a smile, his second sentence was understandable without any words being said, 'they haven't made it far enough to fight me' was what he meant and the Jin smirked at that.

Nie Yifeng was the type to always be smiling, and being a sub most people undermined his strength often. Yet it couldn't be denied he was amongst the strongest cultivators of his age. Not to mention it was even in the rank, as well as him having the Nie blood was enough proof of his strength, most said.

Either way, whenever time came to get serious he did. So there he stood, wearing an expression as dry as his sister's, the two staring at the two boys speaking. With Lan Sizhui in their group, the air around them was definetly cold.

Arrays were soon set by the Lan senior disciples and he'an sanxia, but before anyone could be assigned their fight zones, a random disciples spoke up, "I have a complaint!" They yelled with a shaky voice yet they still walked to the front of the crowd.

Hanguang-Jun signalled for him to keet speaking, and he did, "How is it fair for group seven to fight us?" He questioned angrily and many murmurs and shouts of agreement filled the hall. Lan Wangji looked back at the sign-in forms that were already returned to him, he realised only than who group seven was.

"What is wrong?" He asked and the disciple seemed scared to respond. Truth was, when Nie Yuèrú and Lan Sizhui came to sign up their group he was already skeptical to accept the two being in the same group, and than he saw the rest of the group and didn't know how to react, yet he still accepted it to see how their joined perfomance would be.

And it was highly unexpected how they had gotten a lower mark than any of them had ever gotten since the start of the year when alone. Hence why he was still not opposed to the 5 of them participating as a group, especially since it would push others to try harder against them and outdo their recorded skills since they strive to prove they can fight against the top ranked cultivators.

The tournament soon started, as expected group seven won every single one of its fights. Some groups would win 4 out of 5 opponents or less, and whichever group won at least 3 out 5 would win the round, yet this group made sure to win every single one of their battles whether they each fought or some skipped a round.

On the first round of the group, the Lan brothers went against the Wen sisters, while Yifeng and Rulan went against the last two members of their group. Nie Yuèrú went against Jiang Yueming, the five of them had unanimously agreed he was the strongest of that group and so the five played a guessing game to decide who would go against him and she'd won.

Their fight was fast, but undoubtedly the most stimulating of the entire round, Jiang Yueming was indeed strong enough to be ranked seventh, but no one cared about the ranks below five...
