As all the sects finally arrived and settled down the kids were instructed to follow Lan Ruxue and her cousins as they showed them around all authorised areas and giving them a tour of all study halls.

Only after, did the three take them to the guest bedrooms where they would have to pick roomates.

(The roomates here aren't devided between male and female, not even the classes or part of clan like in the original novel. Instead they are devided between subs and doms, siblings can share rooms if they want as well)

"..And this is the area you'll be sleeping in" Jingyi announced looking back at the crowd that followed.

His throat felt dry as neither his cousin nor brother spoke the whole trip around the authorised areas of cloud recesses, which, mind you, had increased drastically in size over the years following the war.

He smiled and noticed everyone speaking amongst themselves, except for one boy, the young master of the Nie clan who watched him intently. They made eye contact and he smiled, the boy looked a way in response, leaving a dumbfouned Jingyi to stare at him.

"We'll be picking roomates now." Ruxue said loud and clear and the chatter died down a bit.

"If you're going to share with your siblings, just step aside" Sizhui added, rambling began again, way quieter now. The sheer difference between Jingyi's welcoming tone and the colder tone of the other two was evident.

"Should we let the rest choose or assign?" Jingyi asked turning to face the other two from where they stood behind him, he now had his back turned to the crowd after seeing a few siblings move to the side.

"Assigning would be quicker, picking would be best for them, but some may feel left out..." Sizhui thought aloud, trying to rationalise the best option, it made sense to have such dilemma, as most of them met for the first time today, some may struggle deciding more than others, some may even regret choices.

"Why not draw keys again? That's what we did back than" the two Lan boys turned to look at the intruder who'd somehow joined their group in front of the crowd, Ouyang Zhi, courtesy Zizhen, was the one to speak, next to him stood the taller Wen YueXuan.

"Mn" Was all Ruxue 'said' and the Lan boys nodded to their cousin, taking that as an agreement.

"JieJie" Jingyi called extending his hand towards the keys that were held in two separate knitted basket in Ruxue's hands.

"Tangjie. Do not make me repeat myself again" she again corrected handing them
to him.

"Aah-h... sorry.." he mumbled the apology before turning to face the crowd again and explaining the process to the ones who didn't want share with or didn't have siblings.

"Don't be so harsh on your cousins, he clearly cares for you if he keeps calling you jiejie" YueXuan commented, calmer now than he was earlier. Sizhui respectfully stepped away from the group to give them privacy and went to help Jingyi.

"Aiyah.. it doesn't matter, we should sneak out tonight" Yuexuan announced, changing the topic as he hugged his two friends turning them away from the crowd, as though he wasn't just scolding one of the two.

"We're both going back home tommorow morning, we haven't seen each other in over a year. What do you say?" He asked excited and Zizhen immediately agreed nodding rapidly, smiling as he watched his friend's composure desipate again.
