Ginny glanced in the mirror for what had to be the fourth time in as many minutes. Her short curly hair was pinned to the side with a lovely purple barret that Luna gave to her for her most recent birthday and her lips gleamed red, stark against her pale skin. She didn't wear makeup that much, but she wanted to look good tonight for Harry's housewarming party. He and Blaise Zabini had just moved in together after dating for nearly a year and they were getting their group of friends all together for the first time.

It wasn't that Ginny didn't like Blaise. In fact, she found him sarcastically funny and charming and he really seemed to care about Harry which, given that Harry was one of her best friends, was important.

No, she was just nervous about being around so many people she didn't really know.

Before the war, Ginny had been outspoken, outgoing, but since then, her anxiety often got the best of her. It wasn't uncommon for her to freeze up at the worst times. She preferred not to be around more than a few people at a time. Even being around her large family got to be too much for her at times.

Harry had already told her that if it got to the point that she needed to leave early, he would cover for her. She couldn't be more grateful for the awesome people in her life.

After the war, Ginny had initially wanted to get back together with Harry just for the sake of having something normal in her life. She wasn't even sure she had feelings for him, but she'd craved a sense of stability that a relationship with one of her closest friends could provide. That's when he confessed to her that he was gay. Evidently the camping trip he'd taken with Ron and Hermione during the war had given him the opportunity to do some soul searching.

Surprisingly, his rejection hadn't hurt. That's when Ginny began to suspect that she might be gay too. Her suspicions were only confirmed the next time she saw Luna and realized she was in love with her.

It didn't take long for Ginny's confession to come tumbling out of her mouth. Luna had just smiled at her, cupped Ginny's cheek, and told she'd been waiting a long time to hear those words. They'd been together ever since.

"You look beautiful," a dreamy voice said from behind her.

Ginny turned and saw her girlfriend smiling softly at her. With her plum lipstick, long floral skirt, and eccentric feather earrings, Ginny thought that Luna was the one who looked beautiful. Ginny told her so.

"Thank you," Luna said, pressing a kiss to her cheek. Thank Morgana for magic lipstick that didn't come off the way the Muggle stuff did according to Hermione. "Are you ready to go?"

Ginny took a deep breath. "I think so."

Luna reached out and took Ginny's hand in her own, giving it a gentle squeeze. "I'll be with you the entire time if you need me to be."

"I appreciate that."

Still holding hands, they walked to the fireplace. Luna went through first, giving Ginny the chance to steel herself for the party.

She stepped out into the kitchen of the refurbished Grimmauld Place. The kitchen was empty but for Harry, who had his back to them. He appeared to be arranging food on a platter. At the sound of their arrival, he turned to them, a smile on his face.
