The following day, Joong arranged to meet Mark at a quiet café downtown. Dunk tried not to think too much about it, but the hours dragged by, his mind replaying every possible scenario. He knew he trusted Joong, but that didn’t stop his imagination from running wild with thoughts of what might go wrong.
Finally, as evening approached, Dunk’s phone lit up with a message from Joong.
**Joong:** *Hey. Just finished with Mark. Can I come over?*
Dunk’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly replied.
**Dunk:** *Of course. I’ll be here.*
Not long after, Joong arrived at Dunk’s apartment, looking drained but relieved. He collapsed onto Dunk’s couch, and Dunk handed him a glass of water.
"So, how did it go?” Dunk asked gently, sitting beside him.
Joong took a sip, gathering his thoughts. “It was strange. Mark started by saying he wanted closure, but honestly, I think he wanted to pull me back in. He kept bringing up old memories, trying to make me feel guilty for how things ended.”
Dunk listened quietly, his heart clenching at the thought of Joong being manipulated like that.
“I told him I’m in a different place now. I told him about us,” Joong continued, looking at Dunk with a reassuring smile. “He wasn’t exactly happy about it, but he seemed to get the message. It was tough, but... I think it was the right thing to do. I feel like I finally closed that chapter.”
Dunk felt a wave of relief wash over him. “I’m proud of you, Joong. I know that wasn’t easy.”
Joong reached over, taking Dunk’s hand in his. “I couldn’t have done it without you. You’ve helped me realize what I actually want, and it’s right here.”
Dunk smiled, feeling warmth spread through his chest. “We’re in this together.”
Joong leaned in, his lips brushing softly against Dunk’s. They melted into each other, the tension from the past few days dissolving as they lost themselves in the moment.
