The weekend brought a chance for Dunk and Joong to reconnect, away from the pressures of school and the people trying to pull them apart. Joong planned a surprise day trip to a scenic spot outside the city, a hidden beach that only a few locals knew about. Dunk felt a thrill at the idea, grateful for Joong’s thoughtfulness.

The drive was filled with laughter and shared glances, Joong’s hand occasionally brushing Dunk’s on the console between them. Dunk felt his worries melt away, replaced by a calm contentment that he hadn’t experienced in a long time.

When they finally reached the secluded beach, Dunk was in awe. The water was a clear turquoise, and the sand was soft and untouched. They set up a small picnic under a shady tree, basking in the quiet beauty of their surroundings.

As they ate, Joong leaned back, gazing out at the horizon. “This place always makes me feel like I’m on the edge of the world. Like anything is possible.”

Dunk smiled, watching Joong’s face as he spoke. “You’re right. It feels like we could leave all the noise behind here.”

Joong turned to Dunk, his gaze intense. “And that’s exactly what I want. To leave behind the past, the drama, everything that doesn’t matter. When I’m with you, Dunk, I feel like I’m finally free.”

Dunk’s heart pounded, his own insecurities melting under Joong’s words. He reached for Joong’s hand, intertwining their fingers. “You make me feel safe. Like I don’t have to keep my guard up anymore. I didn’t think I’d ever feel this way with someone.”

A comfortable silence settled between them, each finding comfort in the other’s presence. Finally, Joong shifted closer, his lips brushing Dunk’s in a soft, tender kiss. Dunk’s hand found its way to Joong’s cheek, pulling him closer as the kiss deepened, each of them savoring the intensity of the moment.

They spent the rest of the day exploring the beach, collecting seashells, and talking about their hopes for the future. Dunk felt a new sense of clarity. He was beginning to understand that trust wasn’t something that could be handed over once and for all; it was something that had to be built, day by day.
