Jihoon sat on the hospital bench, his head buried in his hands, the weight of helplessness pressing down on him like a boulder. Seokmin had refused to be admitted. Even after everything, after breaking down, screaming, and sobbing, his brother's stubbornness remained an unyielding wall.
Jihoon had tried reasoning, shouting, pleading-but nothing worked. He rubbed his temples, torn between frustration and despair.
There was only one option left. A painful, humiliating option.
He had to ask Jisoo for help.
The mere thought made his stomach churn with guilt. How could he possibly go to the person Seokmin had hurt the most and beg for his help? It was shameful, it was selfish, but Jihoon was desperate. If there was even a sliver of hope that Jisoo could get through to Seokmin, he had to try.
The next morning, Jihoon stood on Jeonghan's doorstep, his hand trembling as he rang the bell. When the door opened, Jeonghan's sharp eyes immediately narrowed, he had find out that Jihoon was helping Seokmin in some kind of way.
"What do you want, Jihoon?" Jeonghan's voice was icy, his protective instincts kicking in. He blocked the doorway slightly, as if shielding Jisoo from even the sight of Jihoon.
"I... I need to talk to Jisoo," Jihoon stammered, his voice cracking.
Jeonghan's expression darkened. "Why? Haven't your brother done enough to him already?"
Jihoon flinched at the harsh words but didn't retaliate. He deserved them. "Please, Jeonghan. It's about Seokmin. I... I need Jisoo's help."
Jeonghan scoffed, crossing his arms. "Help? After everything that monster did to him, you think Jisoo owes him anything?"
"I know he doesn't," Jihoon admitted, his voice shaking. "But Seokmin is... he's not okay, Jeonghan. He's completely lost it, and he refuses to get help. I've tried everything, but..." Jihoon swallowed the lump in his throat. "I think Jisoo might be the only one who can convince him."
Jeonghan's eyes blazed with fury. "You want Jisoo to clean up your brother's mess? The same brother who nearly destroyed him?"
"I'm not asking for forgiveness," Jihoon said quickly, his desperation spilling over. "I know this is wrong. I know I have no right to ask. But I don't know what else to do."
At that moment, Jisoo appeared behind Jeonghan, his expression unreadable. "Let him in," he said softly, his voice calm but distant.
Jeonghan whirled around, his anger now directed at his brother. "Jisoo, you don't have to-"
"It's okay, Hannie," Jisoo interrupted, his tone firm. "Let me hear what he has to say."
Reluctantly, Jeonghan stepped aside, shooting Jihoon a glare that promised retribution if this went wrong.
In the living room, Jihoon sat awkwardly on the edge of the couch while Jisoo settled across from him. Jeonghan stood in the corner, arms crossed, his piercing gaze never leaving Jihoon.
Jihoon hesitated, struggling to find the right words. "Jisoo, I..." He looked down, ashamed. "I'm sorry. For everything. For not stepping in sooner. For being a terrible brother. For what Seokmin put you through."
Jisoo remained silent, his face emotionless.
Jihoon took a deep breath, forcing himself to continue. "Seokmin... he's not okay. He's completely spiraling. He's refusing therapy, refusing help. I don't know what else to do. But I thought... maybe he'd listen to you."
