Author's POV~

As Aanan entered the room, the air was thick with the scent of blood and sweat, the sharp crack of the hunter ringing in the silence. His men were already at work, every blow echoing through the chamber like a warning. His eyes swept over the scene, his blood turning to ice.

Her family-her disgusting family-was already in the process of being broken. Their faces were pale, their bodies trembling as they were bound, helpless, and forced to endure what they had subjected her to for years.

Their screams, muffled by the tight cloths stuffed in their mouths, only heightened the fury surging through him.

His men stood in the middle, handling the torture with a methodical calmness as per Aanan's orders. They had been at it for two weeks now, dragging out every minute of agony they could inflict.

But today, today it was his turn.

He stood tall, his sharp eyes gleaming with an unrelenting fury as he stared down at the trembling figures before him.

His voice was cold, calm, yet laced with a deadly edge that sent shivers through the spines of everyone present.

"A hunter, wasn't it?" He dragged the whip across the ground, the leather curling at the end like a serpent ready to strike.

"You used this on her. Her. My wife."

The word "wife" rolled off his tongue like a deadly promise, his tone dripping with venom.

They whimpered, their knees buckling as he tried to speak. "P-please... we-"

CRACK!

The hunter lashed out, slicing through the air before striking against the chair beside him. He didn't flinch, his face void of emotion, as he leaned closer, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper.

"Speak again, and I'll make sure you beg me to stop breathing."

He turned to her mother and chachi next, the fear in her eyes barely concealed. Aanan smirked, but it wasn't kind. It was the smile of a predator cornering its prey. "

And you," he hissed, circling her like a vulture, "you taught her to stay silent. You taught her that no one would listen. Let me show you what happens when I listen."

He raised the hunter again, snapping it against the ground. Her family flinched as if the sound alone could break them.

"Did you ever think," he said, his voice eerily calm, "that the girl you treated like burden, the girl you tried to sell, would one day be my queen? And me?" He leaned down, his icy gaze locking on her father. "I'm the man who makes nightmares look like sweet dreams."

Her brother tried to intervene, crawling forward, but Aanan turned on him with a deadly glare.

"Move one inch closer, and I'll ensure you're begging for forgiveness in ways you can't even imagine."
