Aanan's POV~

It was almost night, and she still hadn't spoken a word to me. Not one. She talked to Ishaan, even smiled... but with me? Nothing. Just cold, infuriating silence.

"What do I have to do to make her talk?" I muttered.

Scoffing at myself, I grabbed the coffee beans. "She loves coffee... maybe this will work."

As I ground the beans, I spoke to the empty room like a sulking child.

"I get it... But ignoring me all day? Harsh." I sighed. "It's not like I wanted to get hurt... I just-"

I paused, shaking my head.

I stood by the kitchen counter, stirring the coffee absentmindedly, sulking like a kid.

The coffee brewed, filling the air with its warm, rich aroma.

"She can stay mad... but she has to drink this."

"Alright, Ashvi ke Aan... you got this." I took a deep breath stirring the coffee. "It's just your wife... who might kill you if this doesn't work."

"Talking to yourself now? Wow... things must be really bad."

Ishaan leaned against the doorway, arms crossed, a smug grin plastered across his face.

"What do you want?" I snapped.

"Came to see how Mr. Tough Guy is surviving the silent treatment." He strolled in, picking up a cookie from the jar like he owned the place. "Judging by your sulking... not well."

I shot him a deadly glare. "Leave, Ishaan."

He raised his hands in surrender, still grinning. "Chill, man. I'm just here to help."

Before I could stop myself, I snapped, "Can't you control your damn mouth for once? Do you have some personal vendetta against my peace of mind?"

He held up his hands in mock surrender, still grinning. "Relax, Romeo. You're just mad 'cause she's good at giving you a taste of your own medicine."

I groaned, dragging a hand down my face. "Why do I even bother talking to you?"

He chuckled. "Because I'm the only one who tells you the truth."

I glared. "Get out... before I actually lose my mind."

He winked. "Good luck winning her back... you'll need it."

"I'm definitely breaking your head."

Waitt!

Hurt myself...

Before I could second-guess the thought, I placed my hand flat on the burning induction stove, pressing down with force.

The sharp sizzle filled the air, but I didn't even flinch. Pain was irrelevant-only her reaction mattered.
