Aanan's POV~
I sat in my office chair, spinning a pen between my fingers, my mind calculating the numbers on the deal I just rejected.
The room was silent, save for the faint hum of the AC and the occasional rustle of papers on my desk. Then my phone buzzed.
A private number.
I answered it without hesitation, my tone sharp and cold. "Speak."
A low, gruff voice greeted me from the other end. "So, the great Aanan singh rajvansh finally has a weakness."
My jaw clenched. I leaned back in my chair, my grip tightening around the phone.
"You must be delusional if you think I have any."
The voice chuckled darkly.
"Oh, but you do. A wife, isn’t it? A pretty one at that. What’s her name again… Kashvi?"
My blood ran cold, but outwardly, I stayed calm. Control was key. I couldn’t give them the satisfaction of seeing me rattled.
"Say her name again," I said, my voice dropping into a deadly whisper, "and I’ll make sure it’s the last word you ever speak."
The man laughed mockingly. "Big words, Rajvansh. But you can’t watch her forever. Accidents happen. People disappear."
I stood, the chair scraping against the floor as I moved to the window. My gaze landed on the bustling city below, but all I saw was red.
"Listen carefully," I said, my tone like steel. "You think you’re playing a game, but you’ve already lost. You’ll wish you never even thought about her name. If you come near her—hell, if you even breathe in her direction—I will find you. And when I do, I won’t just kill you. I’ll erase your existence so thoroughly, no one will remember you even lived."
There was silence on the other end, and I knew my words had landed.
"You’re brave now," I added, a sinister edge to my voice, "but I’ll give you a head start. Run. Because the moment this call ends, I’m coming for you."
The line went dead.
I set the phone down calmly, my hand surprisingly steady. But inside, I was anything but.
I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath to steady the rage bubbling inside me. No one—no one—threatens what’s mine.
And I would make sure they regretted even trying.
I turned around as Ishaan entered the cabin, his usual calm demeanor replaced with a slight frown. Without a word, I handed him my phone.
