chapter 17 - chained

Tessa grunted, pulling on the chains cuffed to her wrist harshly. After what happened with Cyn and N at the gala, Louisa decided it would be best to separate N by putting him outside, already being planned for disposal, and Cyn in Tessas bedroom.

Lousia chose that she didn't want Tessa or her drones at the gala, not wanting to risk J saying anything about what happened with her and Tessa, and not needing another encounter on what Cyn had to say.

Tessa, along with J and Cyn, were chained to the floor the their bedroom, J and Cyn's pain sensors high and prompting them not to make any moves.

"Jade! Industrial machinery! Chuck us a hand!" Tessa ordered, holding the chain in her hand wanting to get back to N and free him.

"Sorry boss... corporate' spoken," J sighed, rocking on a toy pony that Tessa had since she was little. She looked at the night sky, Tessa's room having one of the best views in the house.

"Cyn! If that little butler dies for you sake I swear!"

Tessa was fuming at this point, her rage from her parents and the company finally unleashing.

Cyn hummed robotically, "I have back ups"

She played with the dolls in Tessa's room, being known for transforming them into different things. Tessa didn't understand how Cyn was so highly intelligent on this subject, given that she walked funny and talked as if her programming was unfinished.

She plucked out the dolls arm, soon taking a robo-cockroach from Tessa's room with her solver and removing its legs.

She was making a human-ifyed cockroach with them as Tessa struggled further with the chains.

The room suddenly went dark, Tessa squinting through the dark in response. She glanced around before her eyes met an odd yellow symbol.

She jumped, thunder shining into the room revealing an eldritch abomination, Cyn at the center of it all. She looked at it, fear coursing through her veins as wasted adrenaline was forced into her heart.

"You will not have to discard your pets, and I will not discard you," Cyn said, her words threatening as she puppeteered her hand with a claw pointing at Tessa.

"Best stay away from the Gala now. You seem squeamish..." Her claw lightly caressed Tessa's jaw line, her eyes widening with fear before she disappeared through the broken glass window shaped as a centipede type creature.

Thunder erupted, Tessa's room now a mess due to the huge gash in her wall. She glanced at J, looking as equally frightened as she was but more so confused. Tessa shook in fear before finally having the courage to say something.

"Jade.. we need to get out of here now."

"Boss- we can't-"

"DIDN'T YOU HEAR HER? SHE'S GOING TO KILL EVERYONE AT THE GALA!! Maybe that's why she said that in the gala room... so I can-" Tessa stopped herself, coming to the realization that Cyn only said that to take her up to her room for something bad happening at the gala. Something Tessa didn't need to see. But why keep her up in her room?

"Jade, I need you to cut through these chains," Tessa stated, looking up at her once more, her mind racing. She had to get down to that room.

"With-"

"Your teeth," Tessa finished for her, J's eyes widening by the sound of it.

"How..?"

"Jade, please,"

J sat in silence, looking at her own chains before taking them into her mouth and chewing. Her teeth were made of steel and metal, so it would be easy to bite through the rough object. Tessa's family had also made it quite thin to fit their decorating standards.

She was able to pry through the single chain, the sensor of her overreacting now gone.

She walked over to Tessa, her chain slightly thicker. She took it into her hands before looking at Tessa.

"Jade..." She said intimidatingly, J taking this opportunity to take it in her mouth and chew. She did this rather slowly out of embarrassment prompting Tessa to motivate her.

"You'll have paid time off..."

She bite the chain harder.

"To attend a uuuuuntion negooootiatioooon~" Tessa sung, J grinding her teeth against it harder and harder before finally breaking the chain apart.

Tessa was now free, J hitting the ground after her work was done.

"THIS IS AN UNRELATED LAYOFF!!!!" She shouted, sure to alert James and Louisa downstairs. She spat on the chains, out of breath as she tried to catch it. She looked at Tessa, her eyes making sleepy.

Tessa made a thumbs up with her finger, at her door to unlock it slowly.

"Ready?" She whispered, J nodding and following shortly after her.
