the rain's heavier today, beating against the windows loudly. y/n pulls her jacket tighter around herself as she makes her way toward the teacher's lounge yet again. the weather's been a mess this week, and she's not about to get soaked again.
her feet move automatically toward the lost and found bin, her eyes already scanning for the familiar red umbrella. she's not surprised to see it, but what she is surprised by is the small folded note sticking out from the handle.
y/n stops in her tracks.
another note.
her fingers hesitate for a moment before she pulls it free and unfolds it, her eyes scanning the words quickly.
"you took my umbrella again. i'm beginning to think you're making a habit of it."
she raises an eyebrow, a small laugh escaping her lips.
"habit, huh?"
it's a little amusing to y/n as she chuckles a little, folding the note back up and shoving it into her bag whilst grabbing the umbrella.
without another thought, she walks out into the rain, the umbrella shielding her from the downpour.
who is doing this?
she couldn't help but to wonder. the thought lingered as she walks through the rain-soaked streets, but for now, she shakes it off.
the next morning, the sky is just as gloomy as before, the rain falling in sheets as she heads back to school. y/n drags herself toward the lounge with a yawn, feeling sleepiness seep in whilst also already dreading the dampness that's about to soak her through.
as she steps up to the lost and found bin, she returns the umbrella, but this time, she doesn't walk away without leaving something behind.
she pulls out a note, scribbling down a quick response.
"then don't leave your umbrella here."
it's a simple response to the note from the day before but somehow feels right. after all, if the guy wants to leave notes for her, she can give a little back.
she folds it, tucks it into the handle of the umbrella, and walks away towards her class.
