the day drags on in the usual haze of schoolwork, draining every bit of energy in the girl's body. y/n huffed, staring out the window at the weather which has been on and off, and the thought of getting soaked again has her glancing at the clock a little too often, wishing for the end of class to hurry up.
finally, the bell rings, and the students scramble to pack up their things, ready to escape the hellish confines of the classroom.
y/n grabs her bag and heads out, her thoughts already on the rain. she cusses yet again at the weather as she turns the corner toward the teacher's lounge. she's already mentally preparing herself to grab the umbrella again.
but as she approaches the lost and found bin, she paused.
there's something different.
instead of the usual disorganized mess of unclaimed items, one stands out: the red umbrella with a a small piece of paper is tucked into the handle, carefully folded and facing outward.
y/n blinks, hesitating. she steps forward and pulls the umbrella out.
curious, she unfolds it.
"next time, leave a message if you're going to take my umbrella."
she stares at the note for a beat, then her lips curl into an amused smile.
"seriously?"
her fingers trace the words, feeling the slight creases of the paper, and for a moment, she's almost... impressed?
y/n snorts quietly to herself, glancing around to see if anyone's watching. no one is.
without a second thought, she tucks the note into her pocket, opens the umbrella, and heads out into the rain.
