the day had felt strangely quiet, like the calm before a storm. class occurred like usual, the annoying yammering of her teacher talking about the war went through one ear and left through the other. she leaned her head against her fist as she zoned out, looking out the window. y/n didn't notice taesan glancing over to her whilst taking notes.

the boy was basically multitasking, his eyes glued on the girl, hands busily writing what his ear was taking in and his mind was just clouded.

y/n on the other hand stared at the sky. she was missing the rain. she was missing the feel of the umbrella within her fingers. i mean, she could go take it and feel it anytime but taking the umbrella when it rains is a different feel. to see another note from the owner of the umbrella brought her joy that she hadn't realized.

as she stared out, watching how the sky darkened and grumbled. she was immediately snapped out of her reverie as she now looked intently. raindrops eventually descended from the sky, the pitter patter now reaching her ears. droplets raced down the window as she watched. a smile grew on her face unconsciously as her mind thinks about her skipping back to the lounge and swiping the umbrella, expecting another note. she'd almost forgotten how comforting the sound of raindrops could be. she liked it better now.

taesan noticed that as he also glanced out then back to y/n before returning his gaze to the teacher, biting back a little smile that was tempting to stretch on his face.

after hours, the bell rang. the students poured out of their classrooms. without even thinking, her feet carried her toward the teacher's lounge.

as she approached the lost and found bin, the sight of the familiar red umbrella caught her eye along with another note, tucked carefully in the handle. y/n couldn't help the small smile that tugged at her lips.

she pulled the note free, unfolding it carefully, her eyes scanning the words.

"the weather forecast said it'll rain three days in a row AND obviously you won't have an umbrella, huh?"

y/n's lips curved into a small, amused grin. the rain had come out of nowhere, and there was no way she could've known. but the note... it was typical of them, whoever the person was.

she glanced around, the sound of the rain growing louder in the distance. it felt like the world had slowed down again.

y/n grabbed the umbrella and tucked the note in her bag. with a quick glance around, she opened the umbrella, stepping out into the rain. she still didn't know who was leaving these notes, but somehow, she didn't mind so much anymore. she was starting to look forward to these notes as she walked along the damp pavement, thinking of what to say in her reply back.
