WHEN IT RAINS

𝟭𝟯﹕take my jacket

school ended so as y/n approached the front gates, she noticed taesan sitting on the steps outside, his school jacket slung casually over his shoulder. he looked like he was waiting for his friends or maybe just trying to kill time before heading home. y/n couldn't help but notice how at ease he always seemed. the whole "cool" vibe he had about him never failed to make her wonder if he ever actually tried, or if it all just came naturally.

she was about to turn the corner and head home when taesan caught sight of her. his eyes flicked up for a moment, locking with hers, before he gave her a quick nod.

"you're walking home alone today?" he called out, his voice a little quieter than usual.

y/n stopped in her tracks. she nodded a little, trying to hide the sudden awkwardness that rushed up her spine. "yeah."

taesan stared at her, "don't you know? it's chilly out. you should've brought your jacket." he raised an eyebrow, as if he was genuinely concerned about her.

y/n felt a little caught off guard, and she shook her head with a small laugh. "my bad. but, it's not that cold."

he sighed dramatically and tossed the jacket in her direction, his expression unreadable but still holding that same nonchalant vibe.

"just take it. you're gonna freeze if you don't."

y/n blinked, momentarily stunned. she didn't expect him to actually give her his jacket again. she hesitated for a second, then looked up at him.

"seriously?"

taesan just shrugged, like it was no big deal. "yeah, seriously. can't have you catching a cold over something so stupid."

"it's not that cold—" taesan did not wait for her to respond as he pushed the jacket a little closer to her, his gaze flicking to the ground, his hands in his pockets.

y/n felt a strange warmth spreading through her chest. it wasn't like she didn't appreciate the gesture, but she still felt oddly uncomfortable accepting it. she was used to doing things on her own. still, she couldn't help but give in and pull the jacket over her shoulders.

"thanks," she muttered, unsure of what else to say.

taesan smiled just a little. "no problem," he said with a small grin before standing up. "get home safe." he waved before shoving his hands in his pockets and walking off in another direction.

y/n nodded with a smile, glancing at him one last time before making her way towards her own home.
