y/n couldn't shake the note or the figure she'd seen from her mind the entire day. her classes blurred together, the words on the board barely registering as she replayed the scene in her head.

she leaned her cheek against her hand during the last class, the note sitting folded in the corner of her desk. 2000 won? seriously? the corners of her mouth tugged into a smile, earning a curious glance from the seatmate beside her.

"what's so funny?" he whispered.

"nothing," y/n said quickly, slipping the note into her bag before anyone could see it, or that's what she thought. unfortunately for her, the boy noticed the note that looked so familiar to the one that he had slipped into the umbrella.

when the final bell rang, she lingered in her seat for a moment, debating her next move. the rain had returned, a steady patter against the windows, and her mind wandered to the lounge.

if he's there again, maybe i'll catch him this time.

she slung her bag over her shoulder and made her way toward the lounge, her heart thrumming in her chest. the air smelled of rain, damp and fresh, and she felt the faint chill as she walked through the halls.

this time, the lounge was quieter, only a few students scattered around. y/n hesitated by the door, scanning the room quickly.

there was no one near the bin.

she walked over, trying not to look too eager, and reached for the umbrella. and, there it was; a new note was folded neatly in the handle.

she unfolded it quickly, her eyes darting across the words.

"you've been quiet lately. don't tell me you're running out of things to say. that'd be boring."

y/n chuckled softly, tucking the note into her pocket.

just as she turned to leave, she spotted a familiar figure outside the lounge. taesan was leaning casually against the wall, his arms crossed as he looked down at his phone.

he didn't look up, didn't notice her—at least, she didn't think he did. but her chest tightened as she watched him, the pieces in her mind clicking together.

it has to be him.

y/n bit her lip, the urge to confront him bubbling up. but instead of acting on it, she walked past him without a word, her heart hammering in her chest.

she couldn't be sure yet. not until she saw it with her own eyes.
