"The Newbie"

Me and Nick were born on September 16, 1992. He was older than me by ten minutes. We were born into country blood in Dallas, Texas. My mom, Denise, was a former sign language teacher and singer and my father, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr., was a former ordained minister and is now a songwriter and musician. He's also our head manager which I guess could get a little hectic. As most of you know, we were raised in Wycoff, New Jersey.

So like any kid, would love to make friends and have fun. Our family friend, Maya, was probably me and Nick's best friend. We would always sing together which started me and Nick's love for music. I don't get to speak to Maya as often because she lives in Tokyo now.

Since Nick started off his broadway career, we would travel to New York a lot and that is how I fell in love with New York City and of course my New York Mets. My brothers were signed to Columbia Records in 2004 but they dropped them in 2007. But thankfully in February of 2007, Hollywood Records picked them up! Soon after is the time when they became big stars.

Then I was slowly recognized for being their sister of course and at the time I wasn't really bothered by it. This was about the time when Nick started dating Miley so, I was becoming friends with a lot more famous people.

So because I was related to the Jonas Brothers, I was also signed to Hollywood Records and came out with my first record, "Meet Melanie Jonas." I never went on tour which at the time made sense but now that I'm looking back, it didn't make too much sense. I was new to this whole celebrity world and I kind of just went along with it. I took part in writing all my songs, but I didn't write any on my own. I did go to high school but only until I was a sophomore. While I attended high school, I joined the gymnastics team because I always had a love for cartwheels and backflips. I dropped out because the rise of my fame and because a lot of people just wanted to be my friends because my family was famous. So I was fifteen and all of this happened so fast. So I'm about to get to the part that all of you want to know about. My first "official" boyfriend, Jake T. Austin.
