ANDREW'S POV
One sleepless night later I was released into my mother's custody. As soon as I saw her and collected my belongings I saw that she was less than impressed with me. We drove in stony cold silence and didn't say a word even when we got home. She told me to go to my room and wait for her as she sat in the car.
Trudging up to my room I didn't expect to see Jade sitting on my bed the pink diary in her lap. She gave me a sympathetic smile and I closed and locked the door.
"You know mom will have a heart attack when she finds out you're here." I said sitting next to her.
"So don't tell her. I came here to see you. I was hoping you could help me out tonight." She said holding out the diary.
I pushed it away saying, "No thanks. I'm in enough trouble as is."
"Please Andrew. I think she's still here. I just need to borrow your nose to-"
"Andrew? Who are you talking to?" My mother yelled from downstairs.
"No one mom!" I yelled back.
Soon I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. Jade froze as the door handle started to jingle. Her eyes flickered around the room before settling on the window. I beat her there and blocked her way out.
"No. You need to come clean to mom." I demanded.
"Andrew I'm coming in." My mom said from behind the door.
Jade pushed me out of the way and opened the window jumping out just as my mom came in. She looked around and saw the open window.
"Were you trying to sneak out?" She accused walking over and slamming the window shut. "Downstairs. Now." She said leaving.
As I was leaving I saw the diary peeking out from under my bed. I quickly grabbed it and shoved it under my matress. She was sitting at the kitchen table a cup of tea between her hands. So I sat nervously next to her preparing myself for a lengthy lecture.
"I'm sorry Andrew." She said.
Wait what?
"I know I haven't been around much and that's what's causing you to lash out. Maybe if I was more present then Jade wouldn't have run away or..."
"Mom you're doing just fine. None of this is your fault." I said sympathetically.
"I appreciate that Andrew, but that doesn't explain why you were breaking into someone's house. Much less your ex girlfriends." She said frowning.
I wanted to explain to her why I was breaking in there and who I was with, but I knew if I said it out loud I'd sound crazy. Theres no easy way to tell your mother that your sister is fine and shes traveling with a stranger who may or may not kill her. So I shrugged to which she pulled me in and hugged me apologizing again. We pulled away to order some pizza before she left for work.
I sat in the living room pretending to watch TV when in reality all I could think about was the diary under my matress. I was so lost in thought I didn't hear the phone ring.
"Andrew phone!" My mom yelled.
I leaned over grabbing one of the house phones and saw it was Alexandra calling. This day just gets weirder and weirder.
"Jade isn't here." I said into the phone.
"I saw her! I swear I saw her following me home today!" She exclaimed excitedly.
"What are you you talking about?" I asked.
"I was walking with Rose from the park. And I felt like someone was watching me so I turn around and there she was! Keeping her distant, but I saw her Andrew I swear!"
"I'm sure you did Jamie."
"Don't talk to me like I'm crazy I know what I saw. I saw Jade."
"Maybe it was just someone who looked like her."
She let out an exasperated sigh and hung up. I put the phone back and went back to watching TV mindlessly. I didn't even realize I fell asleep until I woke up a couple hours later with a blanket on me. I got up rubbing my eyes and climbed up the stairs to my room. Pulling the diary out from under my matress I flicked open the flimsy lock and skimmed through the pages.
The writing was Angel's except in pink glittery letters. Most of the entries were about me and Jade (creepy). Finally towards the end it's written like she was in and rush.
I've finally found out the truth. Going to end it now.
