Chapter Seven

ANDREW

Angel and I were making out on her bed. Nevermind the giant cross above her bed, or the fact that her father was just below us so we had to be extra careful. I was kissing her neck when she put her hand on my chest pushing me off of her.

"Does Jade know you're here?" She asked curiously.

"Why does it matter what Jade thinks? She's at work." I said leaning in starting to kiss her neck.

"Really? Where does she work?"

"The ice cream parlor with the gross flavors like kale and stuff." I mumbled against her neck.

She pushed me off saying we should go, promising that we can continue where we left off after. I climbed out of her window meeting Angel at her car. Angel went out the front door telling her father that she was going to the library to return some books.

"Aren't you a little sinner." I teased grinning and sliding into the passenger seat.

"I am going to the library to return some books though.' She said pointing to the pile in the back seat.

We drove in silence to the ice cream parlor just as it was closing for the night. Angel seemed disappointed that Jade wasn't there. I tried to cheer her up with ice cream and figure out why she was upset about this.

"Andy I think I'll go to the library and study. Want me to drop you off at home?" She said finally.

"I thought we were going to... you know?"

She gave me a small smile and stroked my cheek. "Next time Andy." She replied.

Angel dropped me off kissing me goodbye before speeding off. I sighed and walked into the house finding my dad in the living room watching the news. I held my breath hoping to sneak past up to my room, but his head whipped around and he smiled.

"Andrew!" The smile soon turned to a frown as he sniffed the air. "Have you been with a girl? A human girl no less?"

"Hello to you too dad." I replied heading towards the kitchen.

"Andrew I thought we talked about this. Humans can't be trusted and a human girl will only cloud your judgement." He said getting up and blocking the doorway.

"You're such a hypocrite. You sleep around with humans all the time." I said slamming the fridge door closed.

My dad grumbled and glared at me. I rolled my eyes and shoved past him going upstairs.

"Andrew! I am your father. You will not talk to me in that tone." He yelled at me.

"Does mom know you're still seeing her?" I retorted. "You forget that I'm you're son dad. You reek of humans just as much." I said before locking myself into my room.

Few hours later my mother came back from work with Chinese take out. My parents and I sat at the dinner table eating silently. Jade came in later and went into the kitchen to heat up her dinner in the microwave. She came out to the dining room holding a warm mug and looked over the room. She paused over dad and her facial features changed.

"Dad's still seeing her, huh?" She said before walking off.

Dad threw down his silverware about to get up, but my mom lashed her hand out grabbing his arm stopping him. Her nails dug into his skin causing tiny pin pricks of blood to seep through. She took one more bite of her Tso Chicken before getting up and throwing him across the table. I jumped up and got out of the way not sure what was going to happen next.

"You told me it was over!" She hissed leaping over to where he was and kicking him through the glass door into the backyard.

She stepped over the broken glass towards him, but he got up fast and grabbed her holding her close to his chest. He kept a straight face as she clawed and punched and kicked at him, but he held his ground until she exhausted herself. He let her go letting her fall to the ground sobbing.

"How could you? You said you wanted to be a family again." She said between tears.

"Scarlett I love you. And I will always love you, but she's my soul mate. I wanted to tell you the truth, but-"

"You got her pregnant didn't you?" My mother said staring at the ground.

When he didn't reply she looked up at him and screamed for him to get out. Broken glass crunching under his feet he left us. Again.
