You excitedly opened the door of their practice room as soon as evening hit, your heart racing with anticipation. From the moment you woke up, the absence of Jungkook had weighed heavily on your mind. You tried calling him, your fingers nervously tapping the screen, but each time it went to voicemail. Anxiety began to creep in, knotting your stomach. Desperate for answers, you reached out to Jimin, your voice trembling slightly as you asked if he knew where Jungkook was.
When Jimin finally told you they were at practice, relief washed over you like a warm wave, easing the tension that had built up throughout the day. You took a deep breath, feeling a flicker of hope ignite within you. After taking a long, refreshing bath to calm your nerves, you busied yourself with little tasks, all the while counting down the minutes until you could see him again.
Now, standing in front of them, you waved with a bright smile, your heart fluttering at the sight of the familiar faces. But as your gaze landed on Jungkook, a chill ran through you. He was deliberately avoiding your eyes, his focus seemingly locked on the floor or the wall, as if you were invisible. Confusion and hurt began to bubble up inside you, mixing with the excitement you had felt just moments before. Why was he ignoring you? Did something happen? The questions swirled in your mind, casting a shadow over the joy of finally being together.
He was avoiding eye contact with you, a stark contrast to the usual warmth and love that once sparked in his gaze. It felt as if a cold wall had been erected between you two, and you couldn't help but feel the chill seep into your bones. His expression was guarded, lips pressed into a thin line, and his body language was tense, as if he were bracing for something.
You desperately wanted to bridge the gap, to reach out and pull him back into the warmth of your connection, but his distance made it feel impossible.
Jimin watched you with a concerned gaze, his eyes flickering between you and Jungkook. He could sense the turmoil brewing within you, and he tried to put on a warm smile, hoping to soothe your troubled heart. "Y/N," he began gently, his voice a soft anchor in the storm of your emotions. You could see the kindness in his eyes, but it only made the ache in your chest deepen. You wanted to respond, to tell him everything, but all that came out was a shaky breath, caught between hope and despair.
"Hey guys, it's time to wrap up, we're going home," Namjoon announced, and the others nodded in agreement, their expressions a mix of fatigue and relief. You watched them file out of the practice room one by one, a bittersweet feeling washing over you as you felt the space grow emptier, except for Jimin and Jungkook.
Jungkook stood up, looking ready to pass by you, and in a moment of desperation, you reached out and held his wrist. "Kookie," you said softly, your voice barely above a whisper, but it carried the weight of your emotions. You could feel the warmth of his skin beneath your fingers, a stark reminder of the connection you both once shared. You searched his eyes for any sign of the affection that used to light them up, hoping he would turn to you and let down the walls he had built.
He froze in place, your touch feeling like a spark of electricity against his skin. The sound of his nickname on your lips sent a wave of emotions coursing through him, causing him to tense up even more. It was as if time stood still for a moment, the world around you fading away as you both stood there, suspended in uncertainty.
He swallowed hard, the weight of your gaze anchoring him in place. Finally, he lifted his eyes to meet yours, and for a brief second, the barriers seemed to waver. You could see the conflict swirling in his expression-a mixture of longing and fear, love and hesitation. Your heart raced as you searched his face for answers, hoping that maybe, just maybe, he would let you in and share what was weighing so heavily on his heart.
