The carriage dropped Lonnie, Ben, Musa, and Evie off at the great wall's gate. Lonnie showed off her realm's badge.

"Welcome Miss Li, daughter of the Captain of the Guard and friend," the guard bowed respectfully. "And welcome to her friends, King Ben and Evie."

"This is Musa; she is a fairy of Music and is familiar with Chinese culture and a friend of mine. My parents are expecting us. Have a great day, and you're doing an excellent job," Lonnie said, gracefully dropping a packet of mints into both guards' hands before escorting her friends through the gate.

The architecture of the buildings drew inspiration from the real Ming Dynasty, which had begun in 1368 and lasted for two to three centuries. The liveliness of the place felt almost unreal; stone statues of lions greeted visitors as they entered the main city square.

"I love my home!" Lonnie exclaimed, twirling happily, unbothered by any onlookers. "The world is so much simpler when all it teaches is about honor!" She sighed, laying her head on her hands atop her shoulders in sheer adoration. "The Ming family has supported scholars, artists, and farmers equally; the social rank goes from there. The twin lion statues were commissioned by the Royal Imperial family after the victory against the Hun Mongolians. Lions in our world symbolize protection and come with a slight superstition that they drive off bad spirits. However, lions do not make the list of the twelve animals of the Zodiac," admitted Lonnie, smiling brightly. "Look! There's my dad, Shang. Most Chinese families do not greet each other by their first names; it's customary to use the last name. Looks like he's about to start a training session."

"Oh, hey, Lonnie!" her father greeted, smiling and waving at his daughter.

"Lonnie, tell the class what you've learned from me and your mother's relationship in the war about being a good leader," Captain Shang instructed.

"Well, you and Mom, Mulan, taught me that a competent leader can get efficient service from poor troops, while an incapable leader can demoralize the best of troops. Father Shang, it was said by Jong Pershji," she responded, beaming with pride.

"Correct, darling! That's my ace student, always!" Captain Li praised her with a gentle pat on the back, then turned to address the eager children. "Now, you four will demonstrate the difference between competent and incompetent soldiers through our Chinese martial arts training from the Ming Dynasty." He picked out two boys and two girls, who stepped forward, ready to impress.

"Come, have a seat and enjoy the show," he invited, gesturing with a flourish.

Lonnie, Evie, Musa, and Ben settled down on a nearby bench to watch the training routine.
