"Dude you need to stop messing with her! She keeps using you like your boyfriend, but you get none of the benefits at all"
My friend Sam told me as he tossed the Xbox controller on the side of his couch.
I came over here to vent to him about my female friend Dakota that I have been in love with since I met her four years ago.
Dakota didn't out right and tell me I was friend zoned, she has been blurring the lines for a while, and it has left me in a state of serious confusion.
Especially after we had sex for the first time two weeks ago.
After hearing Sam and his point of view I can't help but feel like Dakota has been leading me on this entire time when have been friends.
When her and her on and off again boyfriend are at odds she wants to spend all her time with me, but when her and her boyfriend are in a good place she doesn't answer my calls or text.
I picked up the Xbox controller and let out sighed out loudly then said, "yeah, your right man. I need to have a talk with her and really set some hardcore boundaries"
"Good! Me and Daryl don't like her anyways, she always makes this weird ass stink eye face, and she smells like cheap ass soup"
Sam replied to my statement laughing loudly.
We played some more Call of Duty, until it was time for me to head home.
Two days later.....
Dakota called him and asked me to meet her at the coffee shop around the corner from my condo.
As I was making my way to the coffee shop I noticed that I'm getting a new downstairs neighbor. I'm sad that my previous neighbor moved out, she was a sweet woman.
And she made the best cookies ever, she moved in with her daughter to help out with her younger grand-kids.
When Dakota texted me earlier she told me that she had made some big decisions that would change our relationship for both of us in a great way. I couldn't help but get excited, I finally feel like she is going to give me that chance to be the man she knows I can be for her.
When I arrived at the coffee shop my mood instantly changed when I saw Dakota sucking face with her on and off again boyfriend James.
I walked over to their table with a neutral expression and said "Hi Kota, hey James"
James nodded his head, and his smug ass face held a smirk like he was superior to me.
"Hey Gin! I'm happy you joined me, and James. I wanted you to be the first to know that James and I are having a baby, and we got married yesterday!" Dakota squealed out jumping up and down excitedly.
I felt like she ripped it out my chest and tossed it in a blender.
I plastered a fake smile on my face then responded with "Congratulations, I wish you both the best, and hope you have a healthy baby"
James scoffed and rolled his eyes, and Dakota smiled with tears in her eyes.
Dakota cleared her throat and said "The other reason we asked you here is because we really wanted you to be our babies Godfather, would you please?"
"This bitch has lost her fucking mind!"
I thought to myself.
I sucked my teeth then said "I'll think about it, I have to go. I have a meeting with a potential client in a few, congratulations to both of you again" Then I stood up and left the coffee shop not giving Dakota a chance to respond.
