Here is sample chapter two!!! Tell me how you like it!

Jamella

"Girl bye! Motherhood is ghetto as fuck!"

Maisha shouted out as she finished off her wine.

After I cried and let out all my tears, and she told me the story about her friend. We got to know each other, and discovered we had a lot in common. Like she is a Virgo like myself, she was actually born two days before me, and she loves horror movies, and also we both love professional wrestling. We both agreed that the attitude era was the best era in pro wrestling and that Stone Cold Steve Austin is that dude always!

She also told me about her family and mentioned that she was best friends with Knox, Mrs. Bernice's son.

Once again for some reason the mention of Knox's name made my heart skip a beat.

I asked her what it was like being a mother, and that's when she responded with "girl that shit is ghetto as fuck!"

I laughed, shaking my head.

I believe her 100 percent.

"Girl you are laughing but I'm serious as a heart attack! My kids and their daddy get on my everlasting nerves like you wouldn't believe, I'm constantly trying to run away!"

Maisha shouted as she went into the kitchen and grabbed another bottle of Carlos Rossi sangria.

We also talked about my estranged husband Frank.

Maisha, just like Mrs. Bernice listened and not once judged me.

She did warn me though if she ever saw Frank she would and I quote "kick him the face with a track cleat"

She made me laugh so hard when she said that.

But I also got furious just thinking about Frank ever trying to find me.

He took years away from me, beat me and left me in the hospital in a coma for three months. If I ever see him again, I'm going to be on his ass like CM Punk was on Drew Mcintyre's ass, and how he is constantly on Seth "Freakin" Rollins ass.

I know I'm strong and I have purpose.

God has something great in store for me and I refuse to let Frank have any control or hold on me in anyway shape or form.

"Hey! Boo! Come back to me!"

Maisha said as she waved her hand in my face.

I snapped out my thoughts, then turned to Maisha smiling.

She smiled back, then grabbed my hands and said "your past has been one sad ass country song, but the rest of your life is about to be a love song, I promise you! I feel it in my soul!"

I smiled and said "I hope it's like an old school r&b love song!"

"Girl yes! Them be the best ones!"

We both laughed and started signing SWV "Weak"

After enjoying another bottle of wine, both me and Maisha were tipsy and singing our little melaninated hearts out.

She ended up calling her husband and he came to pick her up.

Travis, her husband, is the epitome of a southern gentleman. I can see how much he loves, and is in love with Maisha, I hope to one day have something like that one day.

After Travis carried a tipsy Maisha out, I ended up taking a long bubble bath and just thinking about my future, hopeful and grateful that I made it out of my situation because there are too many women who unfortunately don't, and I happen to be one of the blessed ones that did.

The next couple of weeks were a blur.

Maisha came by the next day after we hung out and took me shopping and showed me around town. She also introduced me to her grandparents, parents, and kids, since I had already met her husband Travis.

She also helped me get a job at her mom's women's shelter, where I also was attending couple counseling and also individual counseling as well.

Counseling has been very helpful, and also healing to my soul as well.

I still have moments of insecurity and fear, but I remember what I have learned and also remember what the pastor said when he visited us last week "fear is not of the Lord!" And I also remember what Maisha's granny Mrs. Betty told me "baby God didn't lead you this far to abandon you"

I was surprised that I hadn't met Knox yet, but I overheard Travis tell Maisha after church the other day that Knox was out of town on an last minute conference.

Maisha said something to the effect of "snow roach went out of town and didn't even tell his best friend!"

Right now I'm waiting for Maisha to pick me up from work.

Every Monday night she has a big family dinner, and I have been in attendance since I arrived in town.

I looked down at my phone and noticed she was about ten minutes late.

As I went to text her, a sliver pick up truck pulls up, and the window rolls down to reveal the most handsome man I have ever seen in my life.

He smiles then parks his truck and hops out.

He walks around the truck, standing about 6'6 with a lean muscular build and piercing violet eyes and dark brown hair. He smiles at me then says "hi I'm Knox, Isha sent me to pick you up, she is still cooking dinner"

This is Knox! Oh em gee! He is sinfully fine, it makes no sense! I'm talking Roman Reigns fine!

My heart is beating a mile a minute, and I feel like one of those girl's in those romance books that Maisha has me reading.

I end up smiling at this fine ass man in front of me and say "Hi I'm Jamella"
