14. Beast City

Paiges Pov:

Finally, we get to Beast City. Harvey woke up with a new stripe on his neck. He's so cool! He fought so bravely. I would never want that to repeat, but thankfully, nobody died. Except ferals. I don't count Curtis as a feral, honestly. I think he acted the way he did in the story was, because of Bai. He's to sweet to be labeled as a feral. Actually, with Beth talking about how he's a feral just pisses me off, but Curtis stopped me from saying something, but Curtis did have a big smile after that.

We reach the walls of the city, and guards let us in after, of course, questioning about Curtis. I, of course, told them he's my mate, and finally, they let him in. I'm currently riding on Winston. The crowd is massive.
We get to the platform. The roars are loud, and I bury my head into Winston's fur.
I hate being in crowds. I hug him tightly. Then he let's me down. He goes to talk to the kings. I watch them. Wait.. what the fuck? The ape king is gorgeous. Not a decrepit old bald guy. Nope he's a dark chocolate piece of hunky man. No where close to the story. His hair is long and black. His irises are dark, almost black. He has a strong jaw and a brooding look. Damn...

"The salt trade has just come to an end. Winston has brought back five females! He saved one female, but from what I understand, he has a mate." Ape king says. There's hushed talk amongst the males, wondering who his female is probably. I step to Winston, not liking the looks and hiding myself in his arms. Then we hear gasps.

Damian's Pov:

I growl hearing males looking at my mate. They aren't worthy of her. I watch the platform as Paige is feeling uncomfortable. I can see it.
I walk to the edge and pull Paige off and hold her. Winston nods at me.

Paiges Pov:

"So now that it is settled, anyone who wishes to have a chance to court Winston's female can now challenge him. For the other females, they have no mates. Any male is welcome to fight for the chance to become their mate." He clears his throat.
Winston gets one challenge.
Winston beat up the male. It was brutal. I can't watch, I hate fighting. After the fight, we go to the market stalls while Winston finds us a house with Markus, Holly's soon to be mate. We want to get a place next to each other.

I go to a stall and see a beautiful silk or skin? I'm not sure, but it's soft and a silvery color. Poor Damian, I'm dragging him and Harvey with me. Curtis is behind us keeping males away.

"Hi female, do you like this shark skin?" A green haired man asks me. I nod to him.
"Well, it's hard to come by, but I'll sell it to you for two crystals."

Curtis just goes and pays for it. Noo that's too much! Damn it.. why are they so sweet. This skin is so soft, though.

"Thank you, love." I kiss him lightly on his lips.

"Anything else you want, just tell us." He reminds me. The male at the stall is blushing at me with a hopeful look. I know being nice to any male is leading them on, so I just ignore him. It's the most nicest way of telling them I'm not interested. So I don't get their hopes up.
I spot another stall that looks interesting. I pull my hubby's there.
It has many little cute jewelries on a fur. Now, looking, they are pretty, but my hubby's jewlry is way more special. So I keep walking.

I spot another stall with different stones, crystals, and pearls on a fur. I cover my mouth they are so pretty. His stall also has wool and furs. Wow! I look at some blue, red, yellow, orange, and white stones.

"How much are these?" I ask.

"Female, these are three for one crystal." He tells me. I notice he doesn't blush good.
I look for one more stone, and I spot it. It's a black opal. So I add that to my pile of stones. They are about the size of my hand. Holy crap on earth, I'd be rich.
Damian pays this time, and I excitedly hug him with a kiss.
I drag my hubby's further into the mess of stalls. Yes! There it is. I pull them to this stall. Harvey and i pile a bunch of spices and herbs we need, plus salt. Some of these don't grow around here, so this is a big win for us.
Harvey pays for them, including rice.

"Harvey were going to have our first meal at our new home!" I jump into his arms, kissing him happily.

"I can't wait, Bunny!" He shyly whispers to me. Holding me.
We spot Winston coming this way. We go meet him.

"Winston!" I pull out of Harvey's arms getting held by Winston now.

"I found our home. It's fully ours." Our home. Home! I love it. For once, it feels so nice. I'm so happy.
We all get to our house.
It's a two story home made from stone. The top is thatch, which won't do for me cause spiders. The thatch is old and falling apart anyway. There's no doors or window coverings. But other than that, the house is so pretty. I absolutely love it. I kiss Winston's lips.

"I love it! But the roof is falling apart. Hmm.. what should we use to replace it? Maybe we can use bamboo or.. clay would take too long.. wood would leak. Clay takes a while to cook. Is there bamboo here?" I ask them. They all nod.

"We will get it. Winston, you stay with Paige and remove the grass." Curtis says.
I nod in agreement.
They leave and I go inside.

"Winston, this place smells like pee.. and the ground is dirt.. we need to go get some sour fruits, grass, and wood."

"Okay, just stay by me. we will go find them." I happily take his hand, and we find some nice wood for the floors. I start piling sour fruit in a sack. Nice.
We get some grass and a nice pole for making a broom. When we come back, Curtis is there. There's already a big pile of bamboo.

"Curtis, we need more wood, too." He heads over, kissing my forehead and slithers off.
We get to work. Winston starts to cut the wood in strips, and I take a nice lava rock to sand the wood so it's not so sharp. It takes a good ten minutes for one piece of wood.. dang, this isn't going to work..

"What are you doing, Paige?" Curtis asks me from behind. I jump, turning around.

"I'm making the wood smoother cause this will be our floor." I explain.

"Paige.. I can do this with my tail. Don't do this. Your hands are already red." He grabs my hand and kisses my palms.

"Okay, Curtis, I won't do it anymore." I grab my broom and start cleaning inside  instead. A few times, i scream from seeing a spider. Then one of my hubbys has to stop what they are doing to save my feckless ass.We spend the rest of the day just doing the floor and roof. The roof was faster to do since bamboo is easier to work with. The wood flooring was a bit tricky because I wanted a fireplace, so we had to measure it out. After that. I get bathed, so do my hubby's, and I do all of our hair. I get dressed in a beautiful blue shedding of Damian's. It has no straps and ties in the back. It's very form fitted and has slits on the sides from my hips down. It's a sexy dress. I never thought I'd wear something like this. I put my hair in two back ponytails and combine them into a long braid, leaving my long bangs out on the side. I put my flower hair pin in my hair. I tie up my sandals. Harvey drapes my white fur short cloak on me.
I look at my hubby's they are all blushing. I feel warm all over.

"Ready?" I ask, looking at each hubby admiring them.
