7. Disturbances

Paiges Pov:

I jolt to the sound on someone pounding on our front door. For fuck sakes. I had a long night and I'm not sore? That's weird we did it for hours.. literally hours. I look around and see my lazy snake hubby still sleeping. Okay I exaggerated he's not at all lazy. He's just not a morning person. No... I'd be lying to call him lazy he did most, if not all, the work yesterday. Harvey is gentle and lovey while Curtis is passionate, precise, and sensual. It's as if both worship my body just in different ways. I've never been so happy in my life.

"HARVEY!! ARE YOU IN THERE? MY FEMALES HURT!" Oh, that must be Parker and Bai...

"I'm coming! Don't hit too hard on the door you'll break it." Harvey says in the living room. Curtis gets up fast and leaves the room hissing at the annoyingly loud intruder. I get dressed in the beautiful snake skin dress Curtis made me. I quickly braid my hair to the side and put the sandals that Harvey made me. I walk out to see Bai being held by parker, Parker glaring and growling at Curtis, and Curtis is hissing back. Harvey is just looking annoyed at Parker.

"Um.. can you please keep it down." I ask Parker nicely.

"You ugly female brought a feral? You're risking my females life!" He yells at me.
I start shivering. I hate conflict.. then I feel Curtis pick me up, cradling me. I look at him with teary eyes. He walks to the door and slams it shut in parkers and Bais face.
I look at Harvey, and he doesn't look too happy either. His claws are out.

"I won't have that annoying cub treating our female that way in our hut!" Curtis hisses out.

"Harvey.. I'm sorry.." He's mad at me.. he's definitely mad cause this is his job, and I caused this. I start to cry a bit.

"No, Paige.. Curtis is right. I'm not a healer first. Your safety is our priority. He won't come back. He will have to find a different healer. I refuse to help him if he's hostile to you. You did nothing wrong." He kisses my forehead. Curtis nods.

"That's right, Paige. Your safety comes first." Curtis rubs his nose on mine.
I give a sad smile. Still, I feel bad.

"Hey. We can go and find some medicines that you like today. Or anything you want to do." Harvey tells me. I wipe my tears and nod.

"I love you both. How did I get so lucky?" I blurt out. They both smile.

" I love you too, little Bunny." Harvey rubs my cheeks.

"I will always love you, my light." Curtis kisses the top of my head.

I smile and calm down. We start to get ready to go, so we take a few sacks to hold things. I brush my teeth and look at my tangled braid. Ugg..  I frown.
Curtis comes behind me and takes my hair down. He starts to gently untangle my hair for me. He fixes it, and I show him how to braid it. He does a cute, long side braid.

"Thank you, Curtis, it's beautiful. I don't have a brush here, so my hair gets knotted easily." I lean on him.

"I'll make you one if you explain what it looks like." Oh yeah! They can do that. I'm so stupid..

"Okay! I appreciate it so much, and then I can brush yours and Harvey's, too." I grin, and Curtis just smiles and nods.

We leave the house, and I take Curtis's hand and Harvey's. We leave the village and start to trek to the forest. We get to the edge, and Curtis smells the air.

"There's beastman here." He tells us.

"We can do this tomorrow then." I give a small smile.

"No, we can go. We will just avoid them." Curtis tells me. Harvey nods a bit, unsure. We decided to stay out of the forest, but we walked the edge to forage.

"Ooo! Harvey, can I pick these. They are so yummy! They are cucumber." I ask.

"Of course you can take as many as you want, Bunny." I giggle and kiss him.
I start putting them in the sack. It has 6 ripe ones. Yum!!
Curtis comes to me and pats my head.

"I found them." He dangles the mushrooms in a sack in front of me. I asked him to find them because I suck at telling what mushrooms are good versus bad. I told him not to just eat them to see, but he assured me he knows some good mushrooms.

"Curtis, thank you!" I jump in his arms and kiss him. We're going to eat so good tonight. I do a little dance. My hubby's just laugh.

Unknown Pov:

I hear a female laughing. I go just far enough to see but not to be detected. She's with a leopard male who has no stripes. She's the most beautiful female I've ever seen. She shows affection to her mate. They laugh and play. Then I see a feral snake approaching. I start to get ready to pounce, but she runs over kissing him for finding her eggs.
Oh.. she took a feral mate. I sit down curiously watching them. They interact well, and she thanks them while playing.

"Curtis, can you find mushrooms that we can eat? I'm really not good at finding ones we can eat that won't harm us." She asks him while holding the ferals' hands.

"Of course I can find them for you, my little light." She giggles and nods.

"But don't eat them it can hurt you too. If you know of some that are good, get those. don't you change it, okay?" The feral smirks at her and touches her head.

"Are you worried about me?" He asked her teasingly.

"Yes, why wouldn't I worry? Don't overdo it. If you can't find them then don't worry we can always go back next time." The little female gives him a kiss and a big big smile. The leopard walks over, hugging her from behind. Both her males give a nod. As to not stray to far from her.
She's perfect. I remain watching and protecting the little female in case. What am I even doing. She wouldn't like me. Could she? I watch until they pack up and leave back to the leopard village. Interesting... so that's where you're from.
