13. Fight

Paiges Pov:

After Winston comes back from hunting, I give time to my handsome hubby's. I feed each one of them bites of the food.
Holly joined us with her new soon to be mate Markus. We all sit talking and telling stories. My new sister in law is a kick. She tells me about Winston. Like once, Holly got stuck in mud to her waist. So Winston being the sweetheart he is. Dived in to get her out, but it didn't go well because he ended up falling in face first. After getting Holly out, every stick and leaf stuck to him. I can picture him looking like a giant mud monster. We laugh from it all.

I caress my sweet Winston, telling him how amazing he is. Harvey tells us some stories about when he was young. His first patient was his older brother Chuck, who got mad at another male for trying to woo his female. He kicked a bee hive at the male who was trying to woo her. It apparently broke upon his kicked and Chuck got stung everywhere. It apparently took days to pull all the stingers out. He learned not to kick to hard. Haha.. I choke laughing at that.

Curtis is quiet, as am I. We both look at each other, knowing we both didn't have a very easy, funny life to tell stories about. So I pat my lap so he can lay his head down and i lightly rub his hair.
Damian rubs my other hand with his thumb. While I'm sitting on Harvey's lap.

"So what about you, do you have brothers too?" Holly asks me.

"Um.." I start to say.

"We are her only family." Winston says to her. I nod and slightly smile.

"Oh.. I'm sorry Paige, I can tell you must have gone through something. Hearing you have such a good family now, though, I'm really glad." She gives me a big smile, and I smile wide back.

"Thank you, Holly. You're right. I have an amazing family. Also I have a new sister. Your Winston's sister, so you're my sister too now." She giggles and goes over and hugs me.

"Yes! I like that. We should buy a place next to each other."

"Definitely, that's going to happen." Yay, my first friend and sister in law. I'm so excited!
Eventually, after eating, we all go to our own furs to sleep. I decided I'll cuddle Harvey and Curtis tonight. Curtis looked a bit uncomfortable with our talk tonight, and I'm soaking in the time with Harvey before he's busy. We all fall asleep after kisses. Damian is such a sweetheart too he's an amazing kisser.
I realized tonight that my hubby's and I are all alike. Each of us is outcasts or ignored in life, so we all can understand each other. I drift off to sleep.

Damian's Pov:

I wake up. That smell.. I roll over a bit and peek around. I nudge Curtis, and looking over, his eyes are open. Good, he smells it, too.
Winston lets out a low, quiet growl.
Harvey moves his head a bit.

"It's ferals," I whisper out. They nod.
Curtis slithers off to a tree, and Winston goes to tell the others.

"Harvey, take Paige and follow me." I tell him he nods, picking her up. I start walking to a few big boulders. We get Paige hidden with Harvey, and I stand watch. Some other males bring the females here.
Paige stirs waking up. She starts to ask, but Harvey covers her mouth. Her eyes get wide, and she nods.

"This is stupid. I'm not hiding with her!" One of the female's say. That's when everything happens. Ferals come out in full attack.

Paiges Pov:

Oh my god! I hug Harvey, shaking. A massive scorpion attacks Damian. I barely see what's happening because the rocks are in the way. I hear loud growls from everywhere. I start to hyperventilate. 'No Paige, you can do this. Stay calm.' I look at Harvey, making sure I breath steady.

"Good breath with me, okay?" Harvey tells me. I nod.
Then I see Harvey being pulled away from me by a feral. He shifts and attacks the feral. Harvey gets thrown.

"Noo!!" I scream, trying to get up. Holly pulls me down.

"You're okay. We will be okay." At this point, I'm shaking terrified. I don't see any of my hubby's. I just know their alive, but I don't have Damian's mark. He has to be alright.
I feel Harvey's mark burn. It hurts. So bad.. I cry out onto Holly.

"Where does it hurt?" She asks, I point at Harvey's mark sobbing.

"It's still there. He's alive, okay? He's here still. Do you want to know something kind of neat that I learned?." I nod with a whimper.

"Did you know that your mate, the blue haired one, is a dragon?" I thought he was a lizard or something. I only got a glimpse of his tail. I shake my head no.

"Ho.. how do you kn..ow?" I ask her, looking up at her. She points to Damian fighting. I look over at a massive dragon just destroying the ferals. If I wasn't freaking out right now, I'd be laughing at Holly's joking nature.

We sit there all night. Thank God for Holly.

The fighting stopped about 30 minutes ago. There's still dust in the air. I see Damian walk over nodding to me.
He picks me up and goes to where a few males are very hurt. I see Harvey laying there with blood all around him. I wiggle out of Damian's arms and run over crying.

"Harvey!!" I check him for injuries, but there is none that I can see.

"He's not hurt anymore Paige he just needs rest." Curtis says.

"But his mark it burned." I explain. Winston comes to me and kneels down.

"Damian healed him he was badly injured, but he's fine now." Winston rubs my back. I kiss Harvey and rub his face. I look back at Damian. I get up and hug him, crying my thank yous.

"I told you yesterday I won't let you go through that." He holds me tightly. We sit beside Harvey.
I see Holly come over and sit with us.

"Thank you Holly you're amazing. You helped me get through my worst fear." I speak from my heart. I wish she was my mom. She is definitely an amazing mother. I hope the Beast God blesses her.

"I can tell you were having a rough time. Once my female cub panicked like you. My mate, her father beast, was in a pretty big fight. It scared her really bad. Like I said, you're around her age. You remind me of her." She smiles.

"Remind you of her?" I ask myself.

"Yeah, you both would have been good friends." She smiles at me. Oh, Holly.. I go and hug her. I want to be just like you, Holly.. with your strength.
