3. Blue Bunny

Paige Pov:

I wake up alone in the fur bed. I look around, and Harvey isn't in the room, but I hear him in the main room. I start brushing my hair with my fingers. I get up, feeling dirty. I need to brush my teeth.
I limp to the room Harvey's at.
He rushes over to help me walk to a few furs on the floor.

"So I got you food and a blue bunny." Harvey grins.

"No way, there's blue bunny's?" Harvey laughs and pats my head, nodding.

"Of course I told you I'll try to get what you want." Harvey takes my hand and puts a leather bracelet on me it has a blue bunny made of stone hanging from it. I touch it and look up to Harvey with teary eyes and a big smile.

"It's exactly what I wanted Harvey thank you! You're amazing." I hug him.

"Paige, I don't know what exactly you've been through. I really want to be with you. I know I'm a zero striped nobody. I'm weak, and i can't do much. I'm willing to do anything even if I can be your guardian. I can try to..." I cut Harvey's words off. I stop hugging him and look into his eyes.

"Harvey, you're amazing. Everything I'd want in a mate. But I'm damaged. I don't know how to be around anyone. Or love anyone. I... i.. I tried ending my life.." Harvey looks at me with sadness.

"I'll do anything to make you happy to be here, Paige." Harvey cups my cheeks with his hands, rubbing his thumb on my cheek.

"Can you give me a bit of time to build up my courage. I need to explain myself before you decide this is what you really want. Can you give me a bit?" I ask him, looking into his eyes.

"Of course, Paige, take as much time as you need." Harvey smiles at me.
He gives me a leaf full of meat and some fruit for breakfast. I eat it. It's not bad there's salt, but that's it. I take a few bites and notice Harvey's not eating.

"Aren't you going to eat with me?" I ask him.

"I'll eat after you." He gives me a cute shy grin.
I nod, grabbing a piece of meat and holding it to his lips. He looks shocked.

"Paige didn't.. you want to wait?" He asks.

"What do you mean?" Realization hit me. Oh yeah.. I remember. Feeding a guy is like saying I'm in love with them or wanting to mate them. I'm such a idiot. I look at Harvey. I do love him, I think. He's perfect. He's so sweet and has a lot of patience. Hmm, is the main character here yet? What's her name, Bai? If I don't take him soon, I'll lose him. Haa.. I sigh. I shove the bite of meat in Harvey's mouth.
I shyly look down. My face heats up like a tomato.
Harvey's eyes light up with tears. He blushes chewing the meat.

"Paige?" He touches my face.

"I like you.. I just don't want you to regret your decision." I whisper, looking down at my hand that fed him.

"I will never regret you. I like you too. Even though you chose me, I'll still be slow if you want." I nod.

We ate in silence together. A calming, relaxing silence.

"Harvey.. can I go somewhere to bathe, and I need to wash my teeth. " he nods to giving me a small smile.

"I don't have a big bowl, but there's a river I can take you to. I do have an area that grows prickly fruit."

"Thank you, Harvey. Um.. I'd like to talk and explain things first. Then if you still want me I will accept you as my mate." I tell him not wanting to look into his eyes.

"Take your time, Paige. I'm listening when you're ready."

"Ha.. well, here it goes. I'm from another world. My species is called human."
I peek at him, and he looks intrigued.
"My world doesn't have beastman. Nobody can turn into an animal. There's a lot of females and males. Most have one male to one female. Some have a few more, but that's a few different cultures. I was mistreated by my family. My father went to the st..market when I was little cause I was very sick. He went to get me medicine, but on his way, he was killed. My mother couldn't handle it. A year later, she killed herself. So I was taken in by my uncle and aunt. My mother's sister's family. They blamed me for their death. So.. after many years.. seasons of this, I had enough of that hell. So I went to a tall, tall, buil..house and jumped to end my life. Then I appeared here. I know a bit about your world, but not much.. I read about you as well. You've always been a sweetheart. That's why I like you... there was this other female that appeared here named Bai something I can't recall. She didn't truly understand or know how to treat her mates. I think you liked her a lot. So if I take you as my mate. I'd be stealing you from her. Plus, I don't know how to love. I've never felt it.. honestly, I didn't believe in it for a long time. Oh yeah, our um.. peri..estrous cycle is every month, not season. Humans can get pregnant any time, just not when we bleed.."

Harvey's Pov:

My claws dig into my hand as Paige explains her family, hurting her. I feel so many emotions for her.
I wish I was with her during those times. I could have done something anything. I wish she would have ended up her sooner so she had less exposure to all of that. I feel regretful. I feel her sorrow. I also feel scared. She has her estrous every month.. I don't care she's mine, and that won't change. I'll get stronger and protect her. This Bai female can't compete with Paige. Paige is the one I've been waiting for.
I need her and she needs me.

"Paige, you can't tell anyone about your estrous. If the leaders find out, some will make you a breeder. You need more males. You said you heard about this world, and you read words of us?"  I hug her and rub her hair, trying to sooth her. She looks ready to cry.

"I read words, yes.. why?" She asks me. Her breath tickled my ear.

"You like me from that, so were there other males you like as well?"

"Um. Winston and Curtis." Paige starts to shake in my arms.

"Hey, I'm asking not because I'm mad. I'm asking cause you need to be protected, and I'm a weak male. I would love to still be your mate. That other female is nothing to me. How can you steal me when I'm already yours." I bury my face on her shoulder while smelling her scent. That's why she smells so good.

"So... do you still want to be my mate?" I nod with tears in my eyes.

"Yes, Paige. Forever, yes." I whisper.

"Harvey, thank you!" She cries, and we just hold each other.

Paige Pov:

After me being a cry baby, I sit up and look at my Harvey. I smile and clumsily kiss his cheek.

"There were a few beastmen that I liked. Ones a snake beastman near the river here. That's Curtis. i just mentioned. he was Bais too.." I tell him.

"She never came here, so it's not stealing, Paige. If you like him then I will help you."

"He was insecure from being with Bai. She had his mark on her ankle. I think that's why he was a bit hostile in the story. I do like him." I nod, remembering a bit of the story.
