12. Traveling

Paiges Pov:

I sleep most of the day in Curtis's arms.
He's so smooth when he moves that I hardly feel any jolts. Until there is one and I wake up. I hear growling. Lots of growling and Curtis hissing. I look up. Rubbing my eyes.

"No way!" I yelp a bit.
All I see is a blue haired man in front of us. He's looking directly at me.
This isn't real, is it?

"Paige!" He walks right past some confused males. Curtis tries to hit him, but he just grabs his tail.

"Um, that's him in my dream." I tell my hubby's. Curtis hisses but calms down.

"Who are you? And how do you know me?" I ask him. I don't know what's going on, but he knows my name.

"We've met before. Paige, you told me that you'd come back and find me. I've been waiting for you for a very, very long time." He touches my face, and then I see it. He's wearing my mom's necklace. Oh my god, it wasn't a dream.

"Oh my god, Damian? I thought I dreamed you. So you're a." He touches my lips and puts his finger to his with a Shh sound. I nodded. That's right when I met him. I was sick with a fever, and he was hurt badly. He was ready to die so I told him to live for me cause I had to go home but I'd be back to find him. That day, when I was sick, my uncle had locked me in the attic cause my coughing was making too much noise. I slipped in a hole in the wall that had no insulation or dry wall. Then i woke up there. I was 6 years old. He saw my bruises too. He tried to make me stay, but I was too scared of my uncle and aunt finding me. I was young and didn't understand it was a different world. Actually, i thought it was a fever dream. I should have stayed. He was the one who got my fever down. I hug him.

"I'm glad you'er here. Damian, this is my family Curtis, Harvey, and Winston. I introduce them." He picks me up.
Nodding to my hubby's.

"Damian saved me when I was 6 seasons old." I whisper to them. Harvey smiles.

"Welcome, Damian. We're traveling to Beast City." I smile at Harvey such a sweetheart.

"Do you accept him, Paige? If you do, I will, too." Curtis asks me while Winston nods.

"Yes. Thank you. I will always love each of you the same no matter how many mates I have." Curtis kisses my forehead.

"I know my little light. I enjoy seeing you smile." He grins at me. How did I become so lucky. Curtis is not like he was in the story. Probably because he's reassured that I love him.

"Well, your happiness matters too, you know." He nods.

"I'm happy, Paige. I'm so very lucky." He touches his mark. I get nods from Harvey and Winston, too. I look up at Damian and smile. His eyes look at me with so much love.
We continue our travel.

"Damian, how long is very, very long? I'm not that old." I giggle.

"I've waited almost 200 seasons." His voice so quiet I barely hear.

"What? No.. I was 6, and now im 16.. how is that even.."

"It is.. but you're here now, and I'll never let you go again. I've missed you." He whispers in my ear. I get goose bumps.

"So.. you're an old man then." I get a laugh out of him.

"I guess I am." He tells me.

"Does that mean I'll die bef.."
I start to say, but he cuts me off with a low guteral growl.

"You won't. I'll keep you young forever. Even them. I won't let you go through anything like that ever. I refuse to lose you." He squeezes me for a second. I nod, resting my head on his shoulders. I touch his long blue hair. It's soft and silky. I fall back asleep a bit.
His movements aren't as smooth as Curtis, but he's warm, and it's starting to get dark and a bit cold.
Winston roars, and everyone stops. The females all get helped down. I look at Damian he places me on my feet.
I grab his hand and Harvey's. I speed walk to Holly.

"Holly, would you like to go to the river with me? We might also find medicines for our food tonight."

"Sure! I need some more of that spike plant. I think my back got a bit burnt, and it hurts a bit." Holly turns around, and I gasp. Her sunburn is bad. Harvey gets Holly a numbing paste.

"Holly, you poor thing that looks so painful. Maybe there's um coconuts around?" I look at Harvey.

"What does a coconut look like?" Harvey asks.

"It's a round hard fruit it has a juice inside and white around the juice. It usually has a shell over a hard hairy shell umm... it has three dots on it." I explain as best I can, but I'm really bad at this. Harvey nods, looking around the area.

"I know where they are. I'll bring a few. Do you eat them, Paige?" Damian asks me.

"Yeah, they are so good. But they help from being burnt so all of us can use them." Damian kisses my forehead.

"I'll go get them then." He walks deep into the forest.

"It can't be that bad.. it doesn't hurt the bad." Holly looks at us smiling.

"It will hurt later, Holly." She gives me a shocked look.

We go do our thing cleaning and things Curtis is with us. Harvey had to help a female because her sickness from being pregnant is getting worse. Winston is hunting for dinner. Damian finally gets back. I showed him how to open the coconut.

"Thank you, Damian. I appreciate it." I kiss his cheek. I see his face blush.
I grind the coconut into a paste and put it all over Holly's back. I showed her how to apply it. So we both put it on. It's really good for the skin. What I'd do for some rose water... I sigh.

"What is it, my little light?" Curtis starts to rub my arms from behind me.

"Nothing. I was just thinking about rose water. I miss it." I chuckle.

"What is it? Can I get it?" I look up at him.

"Can you get me roses when we get settled in the city?" I ask excitedly.

"I will definitely try to find this rose water for you." He kisses my head.
So I kiss his lips.
I see Harvey walking up to join us. There's my handsome leopard! I jump into his arms. I hardly got to see him today. He was either helping the females or carrying things.
Harvey cuddles me in his arms.

"I missed you, Harvey." I pout a bit.

"I'm sorry, Paige." He looks at me guiltily.

"It's not your fault at all. Don't apologize. But I get to cuddle you tonight!" I hug him tightly.

"Of course. I love cuddling you, Paige."
He nuzzles his face on my shoulder. I giggle and run my fingers in his beautiful blond hair. They are all so amazing. I'm so lucky. I love my hubby's so much. I don't know what I'd do if I never had them in my life. I smile. Please never leave me.

"Paige, I'm going to talk to the hot wolf male. Save me a spot at your fire." Holly tells me as she runs off.

"Okay, Holly!" I laugh. She's so funny. I hope she gets that male he's really good to her.
