Standing in front of the elevator door, Yongwoo waits for it to open. In the queue of waiting, a person stands beside him, completely covered with a scarf and sunglasses although the sun isn't even glaring inside the building. A complete silence that no one dares to interrupt, until a cheery man squeezes in between the two of them, earning a short glare from Yongwoo.
"Good morning, Yongwoo." Jaden speaks, turning his head towards the guy then transferring it to the other person beside him. "Good morning, Hyewon-ssi." He speaks with the same tone but lower compared to the other guy in respect of Hyewon's anonymity.
She returns the greeting. "Good morning, Daepyonim." Followed by a light nod.
"I'll borrow Yongwoo here later, for a short time." His eyes turn from Hyewon to Yongwoo. "You, meet me at my office, we have an urgent matter to take care of."
Right on time, the elevator dings revealing the people inside-- two to be exact. The three step inside, taking the space on the back. The whole ride is silent, after all the matter to settle has already been said before the ride.
A few minutes later, the door opens once more but this time it is on their floor. Jaden takes the lead on stepping out of the elevator followed by Yongwoo and Hyewon. They walk behind one another according to their superiority. As they enter the firm, Hyewon feels the atmosphere has transformed right immediately, it felt heavier than earlier.
"Good morning." Jaden greets shorts, not batting an eye on the people around.
This tension in the air makes everyone tremble, a peculiar situation that happens at least five times a year. Chills are sent down to their spine, this situation feels like an omen. Jaden and Yongwoo remain on walking towards the head office--their shoes resonate with the tiled floor of the place--while Hyewon is left alone in the hallway, unable to follow their steps.
"Hyewon-ssi, what's with the mood?" Haeyoung calls out for her.
"I don't know but it seems serious." She replies, feeling a little worried for Yongwoo. Her eyes follow the two entering the secluded room.
"It creeps me out every time this happens. One thing I can say for you Hyewon-ssi, be prepared. This will be a tough time for you." Taeyeob butts in, taking a sip of his coffee.
"But it's kinda cool seeing Yongwoo that serious, he looks insanely handsome" Jinsol takes the stage. Her words make Hyewon look at her, with uncertainty. "Do you not feel the aura when he was walking? It radiates off him."
Hyewon fixes her gaze at the room, a sigh escaping her lips.
On the other side of the firm, there goes Jaden and Yongwoo having a serious conversation. Yongwoo sits on the long couch--commonly used for entertaining the guests of the room--while Jaden sits on his solo couch, a seat that describes his superiority in the firm. The mood is heavy, as if something worse is awaiting the two of them.
Jaden fixes his composure on his seat, clasping his hands together before releasing a long and heavy sigh to prepare himself for what he is about to discuss.
"I can assume that you know the current flow of the media nationally, do you not?" Yongwoo looks at his superior with seriousness, the conversation piquing his non-stop curiosity ever since he mentioned it about this meeting earlier.
"Yeah. Why?" The fierce and cold character of Yongwoo changes into concern and a bit of fear.
"We are handling the case. Always law firm is assigned to defend the culprit, Jong Chuisun." Upon hearing the name, Yongwoo has finally let his guard down, as if something hit him that destroys his usual demeanor. This sudden change from him didn't go unnoticed from his superior and he seems to have foreseen it coming. "He is said to be the killer of Cha Siyeon, his mother. Not that big of a case isn't it? But why do you think this case is overwhelming the media?"
