Chapter 11: Formal Origin

Arial sits on the floor in darkness, staring blankly into the infinite void. He's within his consciousness, waiting for anything to wake him up. It was until a figure appeared within the darkness. "How do you feel about your new power? Isn't it amazing to become the one in control?" Said the figure. The man looks at the figure speaking with a disappointed expression. "It feels... wrong." He said. "There's nothing wrong in doing what you couldn't before, so why be so disturbed about that?" The figure replied. Arial shrugs and denies it. "I just..." He wonders without being able to finish his sentence.

"You have the strength now, will you waste your chances for your desire?" The figure assures for what he wants. Arial holds his firearm, the Diendriver within his grasp. His past is not everyone wants to know. No matter how he told his past, it will never be received well or replied positively. He knows all they care for is their joy to humiliate him except for those who he truly trusts.

Arial opened his eyes to Mei, worried and crying. He looked around and found himself in his room, his apartment, to be precise. His wounds have been bandaged and dried blood seems to be on his skin around his bandaged wound. "Sorry for making you worried, Mei-san." Arialapologizede while caressing the back of her head. The purple-haired Mei looks up at him and hugs him. "I'm sorry, I thought I was gonna lose you too..." Mei cried. Arial sits up on his bed and returns her hug to comfort her.

Later, Arial and Mei look into the city through a window. The sky has rained since the chaos happened, making it a peaceful sight. Mei hugs his left arm, not wanting to let go. Arial lets her hug him as long as she needs for her worries to fade away. It's not been half a year since they met and got this close.

During the middle of the first semester of 2nd grade, Arial was transferred to her school. He's never been adapted to a foreign country before despite already learning their language for a few years. Arial met Mei for the first time when Mei was serving lunch as an honorary chef. It was an afternoon, and Arial was the only one who hadn't got a chance to eat at the cafeteria. Though he didn't do this because he was late to the cafeteria, he did this so no one would be waiting for him behind in a line. Arial brings his empty lunch box to the stall where she can fill it with the remaining dining available.

"Hi... I can... beef get?" Arial asked in a broken Japanese. Mei only laughed softly due to his funny wording. Seeing her laughing, Arial feels discouraged. However, she replied positively. "We have remaining beef left, can you wait for a while?" She said softly and cheerfully. Arial courage returns when she understands him. "Yes, It's fine and I can." He replied. With that, Arial was told to wait on the table in front of the stall.

After a while, Mei comes in with a plate of newly cooked beef and other dishes. Mei sits down in front of him and places each dish for them. They pray and thank god for their meals before consuming them In the middle of their meal, Mei looked at him and introduced herself. "My name's Raiden Mei, you can call me 'Mei'. If you ever get late for lunch, you can always come to me.", she said in Japanese. Arial replied to her introduction with his own. "Name's Arial Novus, I'm a transfer student from Asia. I'm sorry if I ever mess up many words in the future." 

That day, it's the day when their lives turn out for the good and bad. 

Just in the middle of the first semester, something came out of the news. Arial came to his class without knowing what the news was about. He sat down and went on to do the work needed to pass the classes he attended. However, for the first class, Mei didn't turn up to the class at all. Arial tried to contact her through online messages but none were answered. Perhaps she's just hella sick? He thought. Arial went on the day without her but has yet to be considerably worried. The next day, it happened again. She didn't turn up to the class. He only thought perhaps in a few days, she would appear before him again.
