[A/N: I have NO idea what chef's name could possibly be, so we're going for Callie in this one. :) Please ignore this, I am simply just trying to avoid studying, oh, and be prepared for my other stories being updated as well. :D I don't plan on sleeping tonight.]
Prompt: It's Agatha's birthday and Chef decides to spoil her.
Agatha stirred awake, sunlight filtering through the curtains of their shared bedroom. It was her birthday-a fact she hadn't bothered to make much fuss about. She preferred things simple and understated, especially after a hectic week at the nursery. However, Callie had other ideas.
"Morning, love," Callie's voice was warm and low as she leaned against the doorframe, balancing a tray filled with Agatha's favorite breakfast foods: buttery croissants, perfectly scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and a small stack of blueberry pancakes drizzled with syrup. A steaming cup of coffee sat beside a freshly squeezed glass of orange juice.
Agatha blinked, her groggy mind catching up with the thoughtful scene before her. "Callie..." she started, her voice still heavy with sleep.
"Don't 'Callie' me like that," the chef teased, walking over and setting the tray on Agatha's lap. "I didn't spend all morning making this just for you to give me that 'I don't deserve this' look. Sit up, eat, and let me spoil you. It's your day."
Agatha couldn't suppress the grin spreading across her face. "You really didn't have to go to all this trouble."
"And yet, I did. Because I adore you. And because you deserve nice things outside of the chaos at work."
Agatha's heart swelled as she took a sip of the perfectly brewed coffee. "You spoil me, you know that?"
Callie smirked and sat on the edge of the bed, her usually fierce demeanor softened by the tender moment. "Only on days that end in 'y.'"
Agatha laughed, the sound light and free. As she dug into her breakfast, she couldn't help but marvel at the stark difference between this Callie-her Callie-and the intimidating, no-nonsense chef everyone feared at the nursery. Callie's glares in the kitchen could curdle milk, and her sharp tongue was enough to send the staff running.
Agatha herself was a pillar of authority at work, the epitome of efficiency and order. Together, they maintained their professional facades with ease, never letting on about their secret relationship. Not even Carly, the literal spy of the nursery, had picked up on their private life.
But here, in the privacy of their home, there were no sharp edges or professional barriers. Callie wiped a stray smudge of syrup from Agatha's lip with her thumb, earning a small laugh and a kiss in return.
"You're amazing," Agatha murmured between kisses, setting her plate aside. "Thank you for this."
Callie leaned in, her forehead resting against Agatha's. "You make it easy to be amazing, you know that?"
Agatha tilted her head, pressing her lips softly to Callie's again. Their laughter and whispered words filled the quiet room, a reminder of the love that flourished away from the prying eyes of their coworkers.
For now, the world could wait. Today was Agatha's day, and Callie had every intention of making it as perfect as the woman herself.
