Prompt: Marjorie finds messages and photos of another woman on Reece's phone.

Marjorie sat on the edge of Reece's bed, scrolling absentmindedly through her phone as he showered. His phone buzzed on the nightstand, lighting up with a notification. She glanced over.

Message from “My World💚”

Marjorie froze. That was… unusual. Her curiosity got the better of her as she reached for the phone. The screen had gone dark, but the name still lingered in her mind, nagging at her. She unlocked the phone—Reece had never been secretive about his passcode—and opened the messaging app.

The thread was filled with recent messages from someone saved as “My World💚.” The texts were casual but affectionate, filled with little heart emojis and inside jokes. Marjorie’s heart sank further when she tapped on the contact and saw a photo attached.

A girl.

She looked young, with piercing blue eyes and sleek black hair. Her smile in the photo was radiant, and something about her seemed… intimate. Marjorie’s stomach twisted.

Her chest tightened as she scrolled through the gallery. The photos were endless—candid shots, selfies, even a few where Reece was smiling with the girl. They looked so comfortable together. Too comfortable.

Marjorie swallowed hard, her fingers trembling as she opened the contact info. There was a number. An address. It felt too real, and the lump in her throat grew.

By the time Reece emerged from the bathroom, Marjorie was standing by the door, his phone clutched in her hand. Her expression was tight, her jaw clenched, but her eyes betrayed her hurt.

“Marj?” Reece asked, toweling his hair dry. He froze at her expression. “What’s wrong?”

She raised the phone, her voice sharp. “Who’s ‘My World’?”

Reece blinked, his brow furrowing. “What?”

“Don’t play dumb, Reece!” she snapped, her voice cracking. “I saw the messages. The photos. The hearts. What, am I just some placeholder while you run around with her?”

Realization dawned on Reece’s face. “Marjorie, no, it’s not what you think—”

“Don’t.” She shook her head, her grip tightening on the phone. “I gave you everything, Reece. Everything. And this is how you repay me?”

“Marjorie, listen,” he said, stepping toward her, but she was already pulling on her coat.

“No.” Her voice was firm, though her eyes shimmered with tears. “I’m done listening to lies. I trusted you, and you… you’re just like everyone else.”

“Marjorie!”

But she was already out the door, her keys in hand. She didn’t look back as she walked briskly to her car, every step heavy with the weight of betrayal.

Marjorie didn’t even realize where she was driving until she pulled into Charlotte’s driveway. By the time Charlotte opened the door, Marjorie was standing there, tears streaking her face.

“Marj?” Charlotte’s voice was laced with concern as she pulled her friend inside. “What happened?”

Marjorie’s voice broke as she clung to Charlotte, her words tumbling out between sobs. “He’s… cheating. Reece. He’s been seeing someone else.”

Charlotte frowned, holding Marjorie tightly as she listened. “Are you sure?”

“I saw her, Char,” Marjorie whispered. “On his phone. He called her… ‘My World.’”

Charlotte’s expression hardened, but she didn’t speak right away. Instead, she guided Marjorie to the couch, offering her comfort and letting her cry.

Whatever was going on with Reece, he had a lot to answer for. And Charlotte would make sure Marjorie didn’t face it alone.
