Prompt: Mia finds out what her girlfriend's favorite musical is. Imagine her surprise when they have the same one.

Mia stretched out on the couch, a bowl of popcorn balanced precariously on her lap as Charlotte settled beside her, scrolling through a list of musicals on the TV. Their usual date nights often involved dinner out, but tonight, they had agreed to stay in and binge-watch musicals instead.

“Okay,” Charlotte began, her tone teasing, “what are we starting with? Something light? Classic? Or…” she shot Mia a playful glance, “do you want to dive straight into the big ones?”

Mia smirked, popping a piece of popcorn into her mouth. “I’m a big ones kind of girl,” she drawled.

Charlotte rolled her eyes affectionately. “Alright, then. Let’s see…” Her finger hovered over the remote. “Hamilton?”

The casual suggestion made Mia sit up so fast she almost spilled the popcorn. “Wait. You like Hamilton?”

Charlotte blinked, surprised by the intensity of Mia’s reaction. “Like it? I love it. It’s my favorite musical of all time.”

Mia stared at her for a moment, processing the revelation. Then, a slow grin spread across her face. “No way. Hamilton is my favorite musical.”

Charlotte tilted her head, clearly unconvinced. “You? The person who complains about every single cheesy song or over-the-top number in musicals… loves Hamilton?”

“Excuse me,” Mia said, mock-offended. “There’s nothing cheesy about a revolutionary rap battle or belting out the ‘Schuyler Sisters.’”

Charlotte laughed, shaking her head. “I can’t believe we’ve been together this long, and I didn’t know this about you.”

“Well, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me either!” Mia shot back, grinning. “How have we not sung ‘My Shot’ together by now?”

“Maybe because someone’s always too busy making snide comments during movie nights,” Charlotte teased, nudging her shoulder.

Mia waved a hand dismissively. “Not during Hamilton, sweetheart. That’s sacred territory.”

Charlotte hit play, and the opening chords filled the room. As the first lines of “Alexander Hamilton” began, Mia and Charlotte both started to sing along, their voices blending—one slightly off-key, the other perfectly pitched.

Halfway through, Charlotte burst into laughter, clutching Mia’s arm. “You know every word, don’t you?”

Mia grinned shamelessly. “Try me.”

By the time they got to “Helpless,” they were both dancing around the living room, singing with reckless abandon. For a moment, it didn’t matter if they were out of tune or if the popcorn ended up scattered across the floor. They were lost in the joy of sharing something they both loved, the realization making the night feel a little more magical.

Later, as they collapsed back onto the couch, breathless from singing and laughing, Mia turned to Charlotte with a smirk. “Guess this means we’re soulmates, huh?”

Charlotte rolled her eyes but leaned in to kiss her anyway. “Guess so.”
