Prompt: Winter misses his mark.

Winter stood at the doorway, his eyes full of warmth as Autumn fiddled with her bag, ready to head out. The soft glow of the morning light highlighted the gentle curves of her face, and Winter couldn't help but smile as he crossed the room toward her.

Without warning, he reached out, his hand coming to rest lightly on her cheek, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. The moment felt simple but full of love—something they shared so often, yet it never lost its meaning.

But when he pulled back, he saw it: the slight frown on Autumn's face, her lips turning down just a little as she looked up at him. Her expression was playful but filled with mock disappointment. "You missed," she said, her voice light but teasing, as though challenging him to make it right.

Winter blinked in surprise, his brow furrowing in confusion. "Missed?" he repeated, unsure of what she meant. He gave her a confused, questioning look, his hands still lightly resting on her shoulders.

Autumn's pout deepened, and she tilted her head to one side. "You kissed my forehead, but not my lips," she said, her voice dropping to a soft, teasing whisper. She stepped a little closer, her eyes locking onto his. "You should fix that."

Winter's heart skipped a beat, his chest tightening with warmth at her words. His gaze softened, and he was about to speak, but before he could say anything, Autumn leaned forward, her lips brushing against his with a quiet confidence.

At first, Winter was a little stunned, caught off guard by the suddenness of it. But then, he couldn't help but melt into it. Her lips were soft and familiar, the taste of her lingering sweetness sending a flood of warmth rushing through him. It was a kiss that was quiet, intimate, and full of everything that didn't need to be said.

As they kissed, everything else seemed to fade away—the worries, the noise, the little stresses. There was only the two of them, standing close, hands gently resting against each other, the comfort of their connection enveloping them. Winter could feel his heart racing, the connection deepening with each passing second. It was a feeling so familiar, yet every time it was new, like the world was spinning just for them.

When they finally pulled away, both of them were breathless, faces flushed with the lingering electricity of the kiss. Autumn's hand was still resting lightly on Winter's chest, her fingers gently tracing the soft fabric of his shirt.

She smiled, a satisfied little grin playing on her lips. "There," she whispered, her voice low, "that's better."

Winter laughed, his face flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and adoration. "I'm sorry," he said softly, shaking his head in disbelief. "I guess I've got a lot to learn from you."

Autumn tilted her head to the side, the faintest hint of a smile dancing on her lips. "Oh, I'm sure you'll catch on eventually," she teased, a sparkle in her eye. "But next time... don't forget the kiss."

Winter, still flushed and smiling, leaned down and kissed her forehead again—this time a little slower, a little more deliberate. "I won't forget again, my sweet," he murmured, his voice filled with affection.

Autumn's smile deepened, and she pressed her hand to his chest. "Good. You'd better not."

He kissed her lips once more, a lingering kiss this time, as if to seal the promise.

"Now go to work, my love," Winter said, his voice low and warm, "before we both get too distracted."

Autumn chuckled softly and nodded, stepping back reluctantly but not before she gave him one last lingering look. "You're lucky I'm so in love with you."

"And you," Winter said, his voice full of warmth, "are the luckiest person in the world."

Autumn grinned, her heart full as she finally turned toward the door. "I'll be back soon," she promised, her eyes still locked on his. "Don't miss me too much."

Winter chuckled softly, watching her go with a smile that never faded. "I'll try not to," he whispered, but deep down, he knew he would.
