"It's my turn. I draw!"
Igarashi yelled out as he drew a card from his deck. This time he didn't immediately play it, unlike when he drew Melffy Pony in his last turn, but he stared at it as if he was deep in thought. He also glanced at Mirai with his sharp eyes first before finally revealing his card. "From my hand, I activate my Spell card, Stardust Illumination!"
That card materialized on his field and shone dimly, painting curiosity on Mirai's eyes. "Stardust... Illumination? It's not a Melffy card?"
Igarashi nodded, a small smile adorning his thin lips. "Yes. Night has fallen; the Melffys have had enough playing for the day and are preparing to rest in their forest."
He raised his arm high, snapping his gloved fingers, and immediately all the lights went out at the same time. The spectators began whispering with each other again as within the darkness, Igarashi's spell card became the only reliable source of light. Standing next to it was the boy, who spoke with half of his face being shrouded by the shadows, "Stardust Illumination allows me to send one 'Stardust' monster from my deck to the GY. Then, with its own effect, I'm going to special summon the monster that I just sent to the GY by tributing Melffy Fenny, sending it home to its friends. Arise now, the avatar of a shooting star!"
A purple portal opened below Melffy Fenny. After Fenny leapt into it, it suddenly shot a bright beam that resembled a shooting star towards the ceiling. That light beam flew around the room before it settled down in the zone that Fenny was occupying. Only then did everyone manage to see the true form of that light: a medium-sized dragon with mechanical wings and body. "...The Tuner Monster, Stardust Synchron!"
"What the... why Stardust?!" Yusaku wide-eyedly stared at Igarashi's field in disbelief as realization hit him, "Did he really put together two archetypes that have no synergy at all in his deck--?"
"When I successfully special summon Stardust Synchron, I may add one spell card that mentions 'Stardust' in it to my hand," Igarashi picked the card that was automatically ejected from his deck. While still holding his card in his hand, he spread it, pointing at his continuous spell card, "Then I activate Melffy Hide-and-Seek's effect, which lets me draw two cards by targeting 3 Melffy monsters with different names in my GY then shuffling them into my deck. I target Melffy Fenny, Rabby, and Pinny, shuffle them into my deck, and draw two cards."
Igarashi now had three cards in his hand. Whether he had drawn good cards or not, nobody there could guess as he could always maintain his calm demeanor. "By banishing Stardust Illumination from my GY, I will special summon one Level 4 or lower 'Stardust' monster from my deck with its effects negated. Come on out, Stardust Trail!" He exclaimed, summoning a maiden with long maroon hair and a pair of white dragon wings next to Stardust Synchron. Both monsters glowed beautifully within the darkness like the twinkling stars in a clear night sky.
"He's done his preparation! It's coming!" Takeru blurted out, sensing the impending storm that Igarashi would summon to his field.
He was right, as Igarashi pointed upwards, "I tune my Level 4 Stardust Synchron with my Level 4 Stardust Trail! With these two, I Synchro Summon a monster!" He shouted, watching as his monsters dissolved into two golden loops and became one larger green loop. Number 8 was being displayed as their combined Levels before that loop got elongated into a tunnel made out of eight green loops. A greenish white beam burst out of it, followed by the appearance of a grayish white dragon with shimmering scales of a mesmerizing rainbow color. As it unfurled its torn silver wings, the gust it created was strong enough to force the audience into shielding their eyes behind their arms, but both Igarashi and Mirai stayed firm in their positions as one of them marvelled at the sight while the other put on a small, yet proud smile. That dragon let out its majestic roar, announcing its grand arrival to the world with an echo.
