So, Kanika had vowed to Nirvaan that she would protect him, that she wouldn't let anything happen to him. Clinging to that promise, she stumbled into the kitchen, her heart racing. Grabbing a knife, she pressed it against her wrist, making several desperate attempts. With each cut, blood began to seep from her skin, and soon the world around her faded into darkness as she collapsed.
As Kanika's body hit the floor, the sound of the knife slipping from her grasp echoed through the silent kitchen. The blood from her wrist continued to flow, forming a small pool around her. The world around her was fading fast, and she felt her vision blurring.
Just as all hope seemed lost, Kanika heard the sound of footsteps rushing towards her. It was her mother, who had been searching for her everywhere. She had a look of shock and anger on her face as she took in the scene before her.
"Kanika! Are you crazy?! You did this for a guy who's not even worth it?!" her mother shouted, her voice echoing through the kitchen.
With a mix of anger and concern, her mother(Kavita) grabbed a towel and pressed it against Kanika's wrist, trying to stem the flow of blood. Kanika's eyes flickered open, and she looked up at her mother with a faint smile.
"M...mom..." Kanika stammered, her voice barely audible.
Kavita's (her mother) expression softened slightly, but her anger and frustration were still evident. "What were you thinking, Kanika? You're throwing your life away for someone who doesn't even care about you!" she exclaimed.
Kanika's eyes filled with tears as she whispered, "I...I love him, mom. I couldn't let any problem come near him. He said...he said he needs me... and I.... I will protect him.. "
Her mother's face contorted in a mixture of sadness and frustration. "Kanika, you're worth so much more than this. You deserve someone who loves and respects you, not someone who's using you for their own gain," she said, her voice cracking with emotion.
But Kanika's words were barely audible, and her eyes began to glaze over. Her mother's face was the last thing she saw before everything went black, and she fainted, the towel still pressed against her wrist.
As Kanika lay unconscious on the floor, her mother panicked and quickly called her father, telling him everything that had happened. He listened in stunned silence, his mind racing with thoughts of how to handle the situation.
"Stay calm, I'll be right there," he said, trying to reassure his wife.
He rushed home, his mind swirling with dread. Upon entering, the sight of Kanika's still body sent a jolt of fear through him. Instead of calling for an ambulance, he pulled out his phone and dialed another number.
"Parul, it's me. I need you to come over immediately," he said, his voice steady but urgent.
Without waiting for a response, he hung up and hurried to the bedroom, gently laying Kanika on the bed. Her pale face and the blood-soaked towel sent a wave of dread through him. He couldn't bear to think of what might happen if he didn't act quickly.
Moments later, Parul burst through the door, her expression shifting from confusion to alarm as she took in the scene. "What happened?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"Check her first," Sanjay urged, his concern evident. "Please, just dress her wound."
Parul knelt beside Kanika, her heart pounding as she assessed her niece's condition. Kanika remained unconscious, her breathing shallow. Parul quickly began to clean the wound, her hands steady despite the turmoil inside her.
As she worked, Parul glanced up at Sanjay, her brow furrowed with worry. "How did this happen?" she asked, her voice firm but filled with concern.
Sanjay took a deep breath, the weight of the situation pressing down on him. "She... she had an accident. I don't know what else to say. I found her like this."
